DeMarco Murray: Not So Sunny in Philadelphia

DeMarco Murray was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles in the offseason to a five year, $40 million contract. While Murray's bank account isn't ailing, it appears his ego is. That's not to be rude the guy is a stud and he feels underutilized, ego's aren't always a bad thing.

After a Week 4 loss to the Washington Redskins, DeMarco Murray said he didn't think he was touching the ball enough. In this latest contest, Murray had eight rushes for 36 yards and added on two receptions. That brings up his season totals to 29 rushes for 47 yards. Yes, 47 yards after three games (he did miss Week 3 with a hamstring injury). No wonder the guy is upset. To his credit, he did talk about how he loves the offense and the guys around him, but that he's just responding to the plays that are called.

Clearly something is wrong with the Eagles, who went from an offensive fireworks show last year, to a crummy box of expired sparklers at best this year. Or if Murray were making the analogy, maybe he'd say it's still the same gigantic box of powerful fireworks, but someone doesn't know how to properly light the fuse. We'll see if another week of tape and deep thought, plus a home matchup against the Saints next week, can right the ship.
