Devin Smith: Deep Dynasty League Stash

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Dynasty Leagues

OWNED IN: 5% of Fleaflicker Leagues

ANALYSIS: Smith is owned in more leagues than Jeremy Kerley, but he has been dealing with an ankle injury and continues to miss practice. As such, Kerley is the third receiver still with Quincy Enunwa suspended and Smith banged up. Devin Smith hasn’t put forth any game worth playing, and this should continue for most of 2015 pending his own recovery and injuries to multiple receivers ahead of him.

Another hurdle in his way is that offensive coordinator Chan Gailey has said that Smith hasn’t been able to get his head around the offensive system yet. These are a lot of fleas for a guy who isn’t a highly touted rookie. Sure, he is a fast receiver who has shown good hands, but until he is able to get healthy and learn the offense in earnest, he’s not going to be relevant for the Jets, let alone for your fantasy team. If you’re in dynasty leagues and have a bench spot that you’re looking to speculate on, Smith is a fine stash, but hope for growth in the future is all he’s got going right now. You should feel safe to cut ties with him if you're in a redraft league.
