Does Lance Moore Deserve More of Your Attention?

ANALYSIS: Surprisingly enough, Lance Moore has caught touchdowns in three of the past four weeks. Unfortunately that “other” week he laid an egg. He has only had two really impressive games so far this year, coming in Weeks 5 and 6 against Arizona and Chicago when Eric Ebron was out with a knee injury. Ebron normally is split out wide and operates out of the slot, which is where Moore normally works when he’s on the field as Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate work the outside routes.

It was encouraging to see Lance Moore get another touchdown after posting that goose egg in Week 7, as it does show that he is a trusted red zone option and that Stafford looks his way. Detroit is going to find themselves in the hole often, and so the passing game is going to be utilized, however ineffectively. He is usually going to be a guy who posts stat lines of about 30 yards, the 106 yard effort against the Bears was an outlier (it was the Bears, let’s be real). If you’re aware of that, but are in a deeper league and want a guy who still has a decent chance at touchdown, Moore can be your guy in Week 10 against the Packers in a game where they should definitely be throwing.
