We are finally to Game 1 of the 2021 World Series! How many of you had the Astros and Braves penciled in for this classic? I'm guessing not many. This should be an entertaining series. We are in showdown mode the rest of the way. We have at least four chances to finish off the MLB season in style!
For showdown mode, we pick one captain who costs 1.5x his normal salary, but he also scored 1.5x the points. We must have at least one player from each team and relievers are fair game if you think you have a bead on which relievers will be used. That can make a huge difference here.
This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/26/2021. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. DraftKings DFS Captain Options
Jose Altuve ($15,000)
Charlie Morton and his 3.77 postseason ERA isn't enough to pay off that massive price tag here. Altuve's post-season stats aren't great either, but he did hit two homers in the ALCS and has driven in seven runs in ten games. Morton has a fairly good history against the Astros due to his time in the ALCS. Altuve has hit both Astros homers off of Morton with a .316 average in 19 at-bats. That's enough to at least consider using him in Game 1.
Yordan Alvarez ($14,100)
The rough end to September is a distant memory for Alvarez. He is hitting a blistering .441 with two homers and nine RBI in ten post-season games so far. The ALCS MVP should hit the ground running again in Game 1. His average was 26 points higher at home this year.
Other Options: Kyle Tucker ($14,400), Ozzie Albies ($13,500), Austin Riley ($12,900)

DraftKings DFS Utility Options
Along with the others I consider for captain, these can be good utility plays as well.
Charlie Morton ($10,800)
I don't really trust either pitcher in this game, but the fact that Framber Valdez has been markedly worse at home this year bodes well for Morton. If he can hang around long enough for the win, that is. Morton has only gone six innings once in four October starts. The one against the Mets doesn't really count since the Braves wanted to save him for the playoffs. However, he hasn't had a truly good post-season start yet. He does have 19 strikeouts in 14.1 innings though, so I would consider Morton for strikeout potential alone.
Jorge Soler ($8,200)
It appears to be a straight platoon between Soler and Joc Pederson heading into the World Series. Who knows, maybe Joc will even get the start against Framber. If he does, use him. I don't like the fact that Soler will likely depart as soon as Valdez does, but one swing from Soler can pay off everything. He's a great GPP dart for that reason.
Eddie Rosario ($6,200)
How can you not consider the NLCS MVP? Rosario punished the Dodgers, hitting .560 with three homers and nine RBI in three games against the Dodgers. If you want to load up on bats, I'm not even really opposed to using Rosario at captain. He feels mispriced on DraftKings still considering his .474 average in the playoffs.
Martin Maldonado ($4,000)
Okay....hear me out. Maldonado has never been known for his hitting. He has been even worse somehow in he playoffs this year. Maldonado is just 2-for-29 with ten strikeouts so far. However, Maldonado is 8-for-15 with six walks against Charlie Morton in his career. A Maldonado punt is marginally better than playing reliever roulette due to his career numbers against Morton.
Other Options: Alex Bregman ($7,600), Travis d'Arnaud ($6,600), Michael Brantley ($6,400), Will Smith ($4,000)
