DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (7/20/21): MLB DFS Lineups

We have a 13-game main slate on tap tonight, and it should be a fun one. There are some nice top-end pitching options while also having some great places to target bats. As usual, there are many value bats available throughout the slate that will allow for many different builds. You can stack up the pricey bats or play a couple of top-end pitchers rather easily.

The slate starts with which pitchers to build around. Do you pay up for Garcia, Darvish, and others? Or do you go cheap with Miley, Marquez, and some other punts? Either way can definitely work, and you can still stack up the pricey Padres, Red Sox, and Jays. In addition, the Pirates, Tigers, and Orioles once again bring a lot of value to make lineup building rather easy. For a full slate run down, listen to MLB DFS Quick Hits.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 7/20/2021. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also check out today's FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

German Marquez - P, COL vs. SEA ($8,100)

"Oh no, a Coors Field pitcher, we can't play him." I can already hear the comments, and that's fine as it just means more lowly rostered Marquez for my lineups. Since June 1, Marquez has made eight starts and has allowed two earned runs or less in seven starts. His only bad start was in Cincinnati, not even Coors Field. He has struck 52 in his 54 innings while only walking 11 for a solid 20.4% K-BB. He has limited opposing hitters to a 1.5% barrel rate and a 33% hard-hit rate over the eight-game stretch. He has scored 19 or more DK points in those seven strong starts, with a few in the high 20's into the '30s. Marquez has been outstanding. He will bring his 3.06 home ERA into tonight's game versus the Mariners. A Mariners team has struck out 25.4% of the time this past month versus RHP while hitting .222  with a 96 wRC+. Play Marquez while many are scared, too, and enjoy a 20+ point performance from your $8100 pitcher.

Tarik Skubal - P, DET vs. TEX ($7,700)

I keep getting sucked into Skubal time and time again as he is continually affordable for his production. He brings outstanding strike-out upside, which can offset some hiccups along the way. In his past seven starts (since June 5), Skubal has allowed three earned runs or less in six starts while going at least five innings and striking out at least five in those six starts as well. He has a 28.2% K% to go with an 8.8% BB% for a nice 19.4% K-BB. Skubal has had problems with home runs of late, but the strikeouts help offset some of the damage once again. He has scored at least 12 DK points in all seven starts, with three starts in the '20s; some of the upside is definitely there. He faces a Rangers team that is striking out 22% of the time versus LHP in the past 30 days but is hitting them well to the tune of a .269 average and 116 wRC+. Skubal always brings the home run concerns, but the strikeouts leave that nice upside. He makes for one of the better value arms on tonight's slate once again.

Other Options: Luis Garcia (HOU vs. CLE) $10,400, Yu Darvish (SD at ATL) $9,800, Aaron Nola (PHI at NYY) $9,500, Wade Miley (CIN vs. NYM) $8,300

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Buster Posey - C, SF at Josiah Gray ($4,400)

Posey is having an outstanding season, but that season was put on hold for a bit when a foul ball hit him hard on his catching hand and forced him to the IL. After missing a couple of weeks, he returned last night and returned with a bang. Posey went 2-5 with a home run and two RBI. Posey picked up where he left off. On the season, Posey is hitting .330 with a .228 ISO and 0.978 OPS. He has looked like the MVPosey the Giants fans have known and love for years. He has been priced higher throughout the season and gets a great matchup tonight versus Dodgers' prospect Gray and a bullpen game. The Dodgers' bullpen was used a lot on Monday night so that Tuesday could be quite favorable to Giants' bats like Posey. If paying up at catcher, then Posey is likely my guy tonight.

Gavin Sheets - 1B/OF, CWS vs. Bailey Ober ($3,100)

Sheets has brought the all-or-nothing approach to the lineup for the White Sox. Sheets either goes hitless or have a monster impact on the game. Since he was called up on June 29, he has played in 16 games and has hit safely in nine games. He is hitting .245 with a .388 ISO and .966 OPS. That OPS gets a nice boost thanks to his 12.3% walk rate. Sheets does bring a lot of power with nine extra-base hits already, including five home runs. He is barreling the ball 16.2% of the time with a 51.4% hard-hit rate. Tonight he faces Ober has allowed four runs or more in three of his last four starts, throwing only 11 total innings in those three starts and allowing six home runs over those starts. Sheets and the White Sox are a stack I really like tonight, and he makes it very affordable.

Jonathan India - 2B, CIN vs. Robert Stock ($4,000)

India has been a fantasy monster of late for the Reds. In July, he has played in 14 games and hit safely in 11 of the games. He is hitting .340 with a .170 ISO, insane 19.7% walk rate, and 1.041 OPS. Indian is raking right now, and that sets up nicely as his teammates appear to be heating up as well. After scoring 11 runs last night in Great Amerian Small Park, they get Robert Stock, who has made two spot starts this season. Stock thew four innings in each start, allowing seven runs, two home runs, and eight walks over those two starts. That means a lot of tired Mets' bullpen yet again. Stack up the Reds tonight and make sure India is a piece of that stack.

Tim Anderson - SS, CWS vs. Bailey Ober ($5,600)

Anderson brings his 16 game hitting streak into tonight's game, and he has been flat-out raking. He is hitting .394 during the streak with 10 extra-base hits, .239 ISO, and a 1.053 OPS. When it comes to DK, he averages 14.6 points per game over his last 10 and should be in line for another double-digit performance tonight. We already documented Ober's issues of late, especially with the long ball, which bodes well for Anderson. He brings a great cash game floor with tournament upside tonight. If I am stacking the White Sox tonight, I start with Anderson, Sheets, and Yoan Moncada, then piece around those three as they should tear Ober and the Twins' pen apart tonight.

Wilmer Difo - 3B/OF, PIT at Taylor Widener  ($2,300)

Yep, we are talking Difo tonight. He brings a six-game hitting streak into tonight's game, hitting .476 with three extra-base hits. He has driven in five runs while scoring five as well. His ISO, OPS, wRC+, and pretty much any other stat jump off the page as he has been locked in for the last week of games. He will face Widener tonight that looked decent in his recent spot start but has struggled in the minors of late. Widener had allowed nine runs in his two previous minor league appearances before the call-up in 6.2 innings. Additionally, Widener has had issues with the long ball, allowing nine total homers in his 39.2 innings between the majors and minors. Difo and his teammates bring some great value once again to tonight's slate. Difo, John Nogowski, and Ben Gamel are all in the low $2K range and bring massive lineup leverage allowing for pricey arms and stacks.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Bryce Harper - OF, PHI at Domingo German ($5,400)

I was going to write up Juan Soto, but I can't write about him every time, so I went with the other monster tonight in Harper. He has been smoking hot of late, hitting safely in nine of his last 10 games for a .350 average. He has seven extra-base hits with a .225 ISO and a .984 OPS. He heads into Yankee Stadium, a place he loves to mash in, and gets a juicy matchup versus German. German has not thrown more than 4.1 innings in any of his last seven appearances. His last three appearances have been out of the bullpen. He has allowed 23 runs over his last 21.1 innings with four home runs over that stretch. To put it nicely, German has been really bad. The Phillies are an outstanding stack tonight, and Harper leads the way for me when building those stacks.

Tyler Naquin- OF, CIN vs. Robert Stock ($2,300)

Naquin got off to a speedy start to the season but fizzled out quite a bit. However, that may be changing in July as Naquin is starting to hit once again. He has hit safely in seven of his last 11 games for a .311 average. Last night he put together a really strong 5-6 with four RBI in the 15-11 Reds' loss. Tonight he is definitely back in action versus Stock and the Mets' bullpen. Naquin comes in as a great discount and should be in your Reds' stacks with India, Joey Votto, Jesse Winker, and others.

Jarren Duran - OF, BOS at Thomas Hatch ($2,300)

The youngster got it done last night, hitting his first big league home run. That home run got his price boosted a whole $300 and gets another great matchup tonight. Hatch has been a 1-2 inning reliever most of the season for the Jays, which means we get a bullpen game, kind of like last night, hahaha. Duran brings outstanding value to your stacks, or even as one-offs. A few other values to keep in mind are Gamel, Jerrad Kelenic, and many more discussed on Quick Hits.
