A relatively quiet Thursday in major league baseball sees just nine games taking place and just six of those on the main slate. With three of those games taking place in the afternoon, we have a compressed featured slate with which to make our selections from.
With two lines currently off the board, the biggest favorite is currently the Oakland Athletics, with the Cleveland Indians a close second. In terms of totals, we need to look towards that game in Cleveland and the game in New York, which are both projected to have totals in the double-digits, and may even be on the low side.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 7/25/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Be sure to also check out all the Vegas Odds for today's slate. DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers
Jose Berrios, MIN (@ CWS) - $10,600
Berrios has been somewhat struggling recently, scoring a maximum of 15.1 fantasy points in his last five starts. However, he has the ability to turn it on at any point and a pitching duel against another young gun in Lucas Giolito may well be that opportunity. His biggest problem recently has been strikeouts, but with the White Sox ranking ninth in strikeouts he could have a chance to get back to striking hitters out. This should be a fantastic matchup to watch and could be a very interesting pitchers duel.
Ariel Jurado, TEX (@ OAK) - $5,200
This is a bit of a gamble on Jurado being in a largely pitcher-friendly park. The weather is expected to favor hitting slightly, but at this price, Jurado could offer you some solid production. The Athletics rank 23rd in batting average and 16th in slugging percentage. On a slate with some questionable pitching is a cheap punt who could pay off nicely against this price.
DraftKings DFS Infielders
C - Roberto Perez, CLE (@ KC) - $3,500
Perez has fast become one of my favorite options when it comes to facing left-handed pitchers. Against lefties, he hs six home runs in 96 PA, with a .272 ISO and a .372 wOBA. Additionally, his ISO on the road is .274, with nine home runs and a .266 batting average.
1B - Mitch Moreland, BOS (vs. NYY) - $4,200
Moreland has returned slowly from the injured list in his two-game so far. However, prior to his stint on the IL, he has hit 13 home runs in 156 PA against right-handed pitchers, giving him a .338 ISO and a .358 wOBA.
2B - Rougned Odor, TEX (@ OAK) - $4,200
This is as much about form as anything from Odor. In the last series in Seattle, he hit four home runs in 12 PA, with seven RBI and six runs scored. However, he does have respectable numbers against left-handed pitchers this season with a .258 batting average and four home runs in 101 PA, giving him a .237 ISO and a .335 wOBA.
3B - Hunter Dozier, KC (vs. CLE) - $4,700
Dozier has had a solid season, with 15 home runs and a .288 batting average. 12 of those 15 home runs have come off right-handed pitchers, and he has a .298 batting average against righties. In 2019, his ISO against righties is .284 and his wOBA is .394.
SS - Tim Beckham, SEA (vs. DET) - $3,700
This one is a search for value and against the Tigers is an opportunity to use Tim Beckham. In July he is hitting .293 with two home runs and five extra-base hits. This season against 2019 he has a .249 ISO and a .319 wOBA, having hit 10 of 14 home runs off of right-handed pitchers.
DraftKings DFS Outfielders
Hunter Pence, TEX (@ OAK) - $4,800
Pence has superb numbers against left-handed pitchers this season, with six home runs and a .316 batting average in 84 PA. His ISO against lefties is .329 and his wOBA is a whopping .410. Additionally, he has also hit for a .371 ISO and a .433 wOBA on the road this season. With a wind pushing out in Oakland in this game, there is a chance this turns into somewhat of a hitters game.
Jorge Soler, KC (vs. CLE) - $4,500
Soler is having a lovely season, especially when it comes to power, with 27 home runs. 22 of those 27 home runs have come with right-handed pitchers on the mound, giving him a .296 ISO and a .368 wOBA.
Trey Mancini, BAL (@ LAA) - $4,300
Mancini is on pace to rip through his career-best of 24 home runs this season, with 22 so far in 2019. Only six of those have come off left-handed hitters, but a .220 ISO and a .356 wOBA is more than solid at this value in the outfield.
