DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers
Nick Pivetta - P, vs MIA ($8,500)
While Pivetta has been ineffective as of late, his strikeout numbers are insane, with a 29.0% K-rate on the year and 12 strikeouts his last time out against the Reds. The strikeouts buoy Pivetta's value, as even if he gives up runs, he will be making up for it in points from strikeouts. The upside for a huge start is there against the Marlins, who have just a .300 wOBA versus righties this season.
Andrew Heaney - P, at TB ($9,600)
With Heaney, you're paying more for a higher floor than Pivetta, although the pitchers have similar upsides. Heaney has been awesome over the last month, striking out 35 in 34 1/3 innings with a 2.88 ERA. He should have no issues in a pitcher's park against the Rays for an affordable price.
DraftKings DFS Infielders
Austin Romine - C, at BOS ($3,600)
Romine has been surprisingly good this year filling in for Gary Sanchez, with a 112 wRC+ in 48 games. He's pretty cheap and batting in one of the best lineups in baseball, as well as an extreme offensive environment in Boston. It's tough to find anybody better if you're looking to save at catcher.
Matt Adams - 1B/OF, vs CIN ($4,400)
Adams has obliterated right-handed pitching this year to the tune of a .401 wOBA and 16 home runs. He can easily take advantage of Tyler Mahle and his 1.76 HR/9 and 5.14 FIP. Adams should post great power numbers and RBIs from the middle of the Nats order.
Dee Gordon - 2B/OF, vs TOR ($4,200)
Gordon is at a nice price for a leadoff hitter who will maximize opportunities for runs, hits, and steals. Gordon can get lots of production facing off against what looks to be some sort of bullpen day with Luis Santos likely starting. The M's lineup should have a big day and Gordon will be involved.
Maikel Franco - 3B, vs MIA ($3,900)
Franco has been killing the ball over the last month, batting .333 with a .981 OPS and seven homers. Despite this savage stretch, you can still get him for less than four grand against Pablo Lopez, owner of a 5.34 ERA. You can't miss Franco in GPPs at this price.
Tim Beckham - 3B/SS, at TEX ($3,800)
Beckham is another leadoff hitter who can score some runs with his matchup against Yovani Gallardo. The O's lineup has come to life recently and Beckham has posted an .861 OPS in the last 15 days. He's got upside in a hitter's park in Texas.
DraftKings DFS Outfielders
Steve Pearce - 1B/ OF, vs NYY ($4,000)
Lefty-masher Steve Pearce has an insane 180 wRC+ against southpaws this year. He faces Sabathia in one of the best hitter's parks in all of baseball. Sabathia has a 4.55 FIP and is dealing with a knee issue, so Pearce could see a big day in the Sox lineup.
Cody Bellinger - 1B/OF, vs MIL ($3,900)
Bellinger is a fantastic buy-low at this price. He's being held down by a suspiciously low 13.8% HR/FB rate and has cut his strikeout rate down from last season. Bellinger still has more power potential than nearly any other slugger in the league and is in a loaded Dodgers lineup.
Willie Calhoun - OF, vs BAL ($3,900)
Calhoun has yet to do much in the major leagues but can have a breakout day against Andrew Cashner, who has a 4.81 FIP. Calhoun has a lot of upside and is a pretty off-the-radar pick who could come in at low ownership rates.
