Today's MLB Weather Outlook
Blue Jays-Orioles, Reds-Mets, and Braves-Red Sox have rain in the forecast. It looks like the rain will be worse in Boston than it will be in Baltimore and New York, but it's way too early to tell and you should check the weather reports closer to when the slate locks.
DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Shohei Ohtani- P, LAA @ OAK ($10,300 DK, $11,200 FD)
Ohtani has the lowest SIERA (2.38) and the highest strikeout rate (35.9%) on the slate. On top of that, he faces Oakland in Oakland which is a great matchup for any pitcher. While there are several good spend-up options to consider and you wouldn't be wrong (Gerrit Cole, Zack Wheeler, Brandon Woodruff), Ohtani is my favorite.
Alex Cobb- P, SF @ SD ($7,000 DK, $8,000 FD)
If looking for a cheap pitcher that will likely have no ownership, look no further than Alex Cobb. He has a 4.08 ERA and is pitching to the Padres. Woof. On the other hand, he has a 3.07 SIERA, the third lowest on the slate. In addition, his 24.9% strikeout rate and allowing just 0.61 HR/9 is also good. He has good peripherals but not great surface stats. Worth a dart in tournaments.
Braxton Garrett- P, MIA @ PHI ($7,500 DK, $8,300 FD)
This is more of an SP2 on DraftKings play but if playing many lineups, you could go with him on FanDuel as well. The bad news is that Garrett is pitching opposite Zack Wheeler and he will get no run support and the bullpen might blow it. The good news is that he has the same 27% strikeout rate as Wheeler and a 3.17 SIERA compared to Wheeler's 3.16 SIERA.
Garrett has very similar peripheral stats as Wheeler and is several thousand less.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B, PIT vs. Tommy Henry ($3,500 DK, $2,600 FD)
Hayes has a .377 wOBA and .181 ISO to LHP this season. Henry is just a prospect and allowed four runs in five innings against Cleveland.
Paul DeJong- SS, STL vs. Ryan Feltner ($3,500 DK, $2,700 FD)
Paul DeJong has been playing great since getting called up. He has three HR, 10 RBI, and five runs scored in eight games since rejoining the big league club. Going to Coors against Ryan Feltner and a shaky Rockies bullpen seems like a good situation for DeJong.
Santiago Espinal- 2B, TOR vs. Kyle Bradish ($3,000 DK, $2,600 FD)
Like most slates, second base is one where you either want to spend way up or go down as far as you can. Kyle Bradish is not a good pitcher, the Blue Jays are implied for over four runs, so why not take a piece of that lineup for cheap?
Darin Ruf- 1B, NYM vs. Mike Minor ($3,000 DK, $2,600 FD)
Mike Minor has a 4.82 SIERA and is allowing 2.54 HR/9. Ruf, if he plays, is an elite play tonight, especially for tournaments. Against LHP, he has .378 wOBA and .273 ISO. Hopefully he gets the start and he is at risk of getting pulled from the game once Minor leaves the lineup.
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Lars Nootbaar- OF, STL vs. Ryan Feltner ($2,300 DK, $2,800 FD)
Nootbar isn't some elite hitter. This is a chance to get another Coors Field piece for very cheap and he correlates to DeJong as well as these guys usually hit around 5-7 in the order, although Nootbar has batted 8th and 9th at times too.
Braves Outfielders- OF, ATL vs. Rich Hill
Whether you want to spend up on a Ronald Acuna Jr., go for someone in the middle like Marcell Ozuna, or punt to Robbie Grossman, those are all fine plays. Rich Hill has a 4.39 SIERA and an 11.5 K-BB%. The only issue is that this game could get rained out so check the weather!
Taylor Ward- OF, LAA vs. James Kaprielian ($4,000 DK, $3,100 FD)
Taylor Ward has a .361 wOBA and .196 ISO against RHp. Kaprielian on the season has a 5.10 SIERA and a 6.1 K-BB%, making him a target for DFS lineups.
DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks
Here are a few stacks I am really liking today outside of Coors, which is almost always an obvious play!
- New York Mets- Mike Minor could be the worst pitcher on this slate. He allows 2.54 HR/9 and has a 4.82 SIERA with a 5.31 xFIP.
- Pittsburgh Pirates- Tommy Henry is a rookie and can get got to.
- Arizona Diamondbacks - Zach Thompson has a 4.76 SIERA, and a 7.2 K-BB%. This side is likely to be more popular than Pittsburgh.
- Milwaukee Brewers - Jimmy Yacabonis is opening by Ryan Yarbrough is following him and someone to target: 4.76 SIERA, a 9.0 K-BB%.
- Cleveland Guardians- Detroit all around is a mess. Tyler Alexander has a 4.73 SIERA, and that Detroit bullpen is starting to regress to their peripheral stats.
