EPL DFS Lineup Picks - Overview
Brentford vs Watford
This is a little bit of an ugly matchup to start Matchday 16. Both teams are in the bottom half of the table and are not in a good place going forward. With just three points from their last six games, Watford have fallen dangerously close to relegation. Brentford (+115) have been better than Watford recently, but that is not saying much. They have been able to scratch out more draws than Watford, and that's why they're favored at home here. The goal total over/under is 2.5.
FanDuel DFS Forwards / Midfielders
Brentford attackers have not had quite the start to their EPL season as I bet they would have liked. They do have a nice matchup here Friday against Watford. They're allowing the third-most goals in the league so far at 1.93 per game. They are allowing shots on goal and chances created at a top five rate. Brentford attackers are affordable on this slate too. Bryan Mbeumo ($13) is a solid place to go with your captain spot on this slate. He has a nice mix of goal upside - at +190 - and peripherals in a good matchup. You can get a little more different if you want with Christian Norgaard ($10) in your captain spot with his peripherals - especially his ability to create chances.
With Ivan Toney out with Covid and Sergi Canos suspended, we should see Yoane Wissa ($11) in the starting lineup. He has two substitute goals for Brentford this season and is the second most likely scorer on the slate. According to Vegas, the player who is most likely to score in this game odds-wise is Marcus Forss ($4). Yes, you read that right. The leading anytime goalscorer in this game is a 22-year-old Finnish attacker who is the minimum price. He had eight goals for the team last year in the Championship and has five goals in three EFL games this season. He's a great way to get a solid attacker in a good matchup for a crazy price.
Brentford's defense has been a little shaky as of late, but overall, they have been pretty solid this year. At home, they've only allowed nine goals in seven games. That - along with the fact that Brentford don't give up many attacking peripherals - doesn't give me much confidence in Watford attackers. However, there's enough value on the Brentford side of things that Emmanuel Dennis ($15) is in play on this slate. He has a goal in three of his last four games and can get some decent peripherals.
FanDuel DFS Defenders
Brentford allows more clearances, tackles, and interceptions than Watford. I like this matchup for Kiko Femenia ($9). He's pretty expensive, but there's enough value at the FWD/MID positions to pay for him.
I also like Danny Rose ($7) and Pontus Jansson ($8) as well on this slate. The value at this position is severely lacking.
