EPL DFS Lineup Picks - Overview
Brighton vs Southampton
Brighton (+140) hosts a falling Southampton team on Monday at Falmer Stadium. Southampton have fallen to eighth place after a draw and a loss, while Brighton sit seven points below in 16th. Vegas is giving Brighton the slight advantage at home even with that difference. It should be a fairly evenly-played match on Monday with two pretty average English football teams. Nonetheless, there will be plenty of DFS goodness on this slate. The goal total over/under is 2.5.
FanDuel DFS Forwards / Midfielders
There are so many ways to go about building your lineup on this slate. James Ward-Prowse ($15) is a nice player to put in your captain spot on Monday. He has goal and assist upside, and he gets plenty of other stats which are important in low-scoring single-game slates. The matchup here for JWP is average at best and his price is somewhat inhibiting, however, he has been the best fantasy player on these two teams this year.
Pascal Gross ($9) is far too cheap on this slate and will likely be high-owned. Playing him in your captain spot is a way to still play him but get a little different. Gross has a goal, two assists, and 2.5 chances created per game over his last four EPL games. He has scored no less than 15 fantasy points in those games either. He is one of the best dollar-for-dollar plays on the slate.
Theo Walcott ($11) and Che Adams ($14) are both strong plays on Monday with their goal upside. Adams has the second-highest anytime scorings odds on the slate at +220, and Walcott follows right behind at +275. They are on similar levels for me on Monday, and the decision on which to play should come based off salary needs for prioritizing your other plays. If you have the money, Adams makes sense, but Walcott is a smart play if the $3 savings helps you upgrade.
Danny Welbeck ($13) is the Brighton attacker I am targeting. He is averaging 20.6 fantasy points in his three league starts this year. He is the second-most likely scorer for the home side at +240 behind Neal Maupay ($14). Maupay does not really interest me at that price with the poor scoring form he is in right now.
Solly March ($6) is the best value attacker on this slate. Brighton are favored and their attackers have a better matchup against Southampton's defense than Southampton does on the road against Brighton. March has some goal upside, but he does collect plenty of different peripherals which usually gives him a good floor.
FanDuel DFS Defenders
Brighton force more defensive action than Southampton do, so I will likely target more Southampton defenders on Monday. Jannik Vestergaard ($10) is going to be difficult to pay up for on this slate. He does have some attacking upside, however, Kyle Walker-Peters ($7) is the best Southampton defender to get when you consider price. He has more of the four meaningful defensive stats than Vestergaard and Jan Bednarek ($9) do, and this is a great matchup for him to pick up plenty of those stats.
None of the Brighton defenders are that good of a play on Monday. Stick to the Southampton guys in a better matchup.
