EPL DFS Lineup Picks - Overview
Leicester vs West Brom
Not long ago, Leicester (-175) was looking really good to secure a UCL spot for next year. Now they've lost two straight games and only sit one point ahead of Chelsea in 3rd place - but they do have a one in hand that they'll get back here. West Brom have shown some life with two consecutive wins in which they scored eight and only conceded two. They still have some heavy lifting to do if they want to return to the Premier League next season though. West Brom will likely be overmatched in this game against a good Leicester team at home. The goal total over/under is 2.5.
FanDuel DFS Forwards / Midfielders
So many people are liking going to see Jamie Vardy ($15) - a prolific goalscorer - in this prime matchup at home and plug him right into the captain spot without looking back. It's definitely not a bad strategy to get Vardy though. His -140 anytime scoring odds are best on the slate, and he can punish WBU's defense. They're giving up an average of 1.9 goals per game this year overall and still give up 1.73 per game on the road. The big downside with Vardy is his form with just one league goal since Christmas, and his price remains at the maximum. This especially looks bad when you can get Kelechi Iheanacho ($14) for a dollar less who has the same great matchup and has seven goals in his last five EPL games. I recommend one of them in the captain spot, and if you can somehow work it to get both, you give yourself a very high ceiling.
James Maddison ($13) is another top-tier play for Leicester in this matchup. They should roll West Brom in this game. Maddison has the best floor out of Leicester's top three with his chances created and SOGs, and he has solid goal upside at +200. Youri Tielemans ($9) is a strong candidate for a third Leicester attacker. The matchup is good enough for three Leicester attackers, and I highly recommend getting three. You can jam in a fourth Leicester attacker - Marc Albrighton ($7) - and ride a full 4/1 Leicester stack.
West Brom has been scoring more recently than any other time in the season. They draw a far more difficult matchup in this game on the road against Leicester. West Brom only average 1.07 goals per game on the road. Matheus Pereira ($14) is the best WBU attacking option if you want to choose one, but he's very expensive which will essentially take him out of my player pool. Callum Robinson ($11) is much more economical, and Okay Yokuslu ($7) is the deep value guy on the slate with his ability to get peripherals.
FanDuel DFS Defenders
The defenders on this slate are not great. None are in particularly good form, the wingbacks with attacking upside are not strong, and neither team allow many defensive peripherals.
Dara O'Shea ($5) immediately hits my player pool as the cheapest expected starter on the slate. Leicester allow the least clearances in the league, but they do force a decent amount of tackles and interceptions. O'Shea can still collect those two stats at a good rate. If he adds in a few clearances or other stats, he'll be well worth $5.
Caglar Soyuncu ($6) is another one of my preferred DEF plays. West Brom allow a good number of clearances (6th most in the league). Soyuncu should fare well with how he can accumulate clearances during a game. Plus, West Brom allow interceptions and tackles at a decent rate. Soyuncu has a strong floor and a good ceiling for a cheap price tag. Not to mention that a clean sheet bonus is a decent possibility too.
