EPL DFS Lineup Picks for FanDuel (5/15/21) - English Premier League Soccer

Welcome back, RotoBallers! After Friday's single-game slate, we roll into the weekend with only two games on the main slate that are several hours apart. The early and late games will be split by the FA Cup Final between Chelsea and Leicester. I have another full breakdown for you all. Keep reading this breakdown for my DFS soccer picks on RotoBaller and see how to have success on Saturday's slate.

The very large majority of my DFS content will be EPL-related, however, there is more soccer than just what is being played in England. If you want to chop it up with myself and other RotoBaller writers about non-EPL leagues or other sports, consider becoming a premium member and joining our ever-growing community of DFS and fantasy sports enthusiasts!

In this article, I will be providing you with my English Premier League daily fantasy soccer lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/15/21 for the slate that locks at 10:00 am ET. Be sure to also check out our other DFS lineup picks for other active sports. You can always find me on Twitter @vdray5 if you have any questions. Good luck, RotoBallers!

EPL DFS Lineup Picks - Overview

Southampton vs Fulham

This game does not mean much for either of these teams anymore. Southampton (+100) are going to finish in the middle of the table, and Fulham are going to be relegated. Both teams seem like they will still get most of their normal starters out there Saturday which should make this game interesting. Southampton are definitely the better team at home, and they're in better form. With only two games on the main slate, some Southampton exposure will be needed. The goal total over/under is 2.5.

Brighton vs West Ham

Brighton host West Ham (+140) in the late game Saturday. Brighton are now officially clear of relegation, but West Ham are still fighting for a spot in the top five. They have dropped down to 6th now - two points back of Liverpool. It will now be an uphill climb for them to get into next year's Champions League. West Ham have been not as good on the road, and Brighton is never an easy team to play on the road. The goal total over/under is also 2.5 in this game.

FanDuel DFS Forwards / Midfielders

The top spot on this slate goes to one of my favorite weekly plays, Danny Ings ($21). I recommended him in Southampton's last game, and he went on to score twice. He's in form with four goals in four games. He has a good matchup against Fulham and is -125 to score on this slate. Ings is the only player on the entire slate who has minus odds to score. James Ward-Prowse ($17) is an awesome player to pair with Ings in a mini-stack. The two correlate well, and this is one of the better matchups on the slate.

Another one of my favorite plays, Pascal Gross ($14), is also someone I'm headed back to on this slate. He's been playing well lately and has a strong matchup with West Ham allowing the most chances created per game on the slate. He gets good defensive peripherals as well, and he is very affordable on this slate.

We could get some unexpected starters in these games at this late stage of the season - but as we are now - Yves Bissouma ($10) is one of the nicer value "attackers." I put that in quotation marks because he really doesn't do much attacking at all. He gets his value from defensive peripherals which he has been getting a lot of recently. He has scored in double-digits in seven straight games averaging 14.2 fantasy points in that stretch. He's a solid cheap play who can be used as a filler to save salary.

Jesse Lingard ($20) is another guy in my player pool on Saturday with his goal upside. This is not a great matchup, but as I mentioned, this is a game that West Ham needs badly. Lingard is their most likely anytime scorer at +130, but his floor remains in the single digits. Declan Rice ($5) just might be able to return to the starting lineup on Saturday after several weeks out of the squad with an injury. He would be incredible value if he does start. He would be a popular play, but I am still skeptical that he is fit enough to start this game for West Ham.

FanDuel DFS Defenders

Fulham allow a lot of defensive peripherals, especially tackles. Kyle Walker-Peters ($12) has disappointed me a few times lately, but the good matchups keep popping up for him. From a defensive peripherals standpoint, he's one of the best defenders on the slate.

From the standpoint of defenders who have some attacking appeal, Antonee Robinson ($10) is a strong play. He is cheaper than he was earlier in the year, and over the last few games, he has returned to similar attacking form from earlier in the season. He is creating more chances now and that is key for his fantasy value. Southampton don't allow a ton of chances, but they are right in the middle of the pack. Robinson should be able to create a few chances in this game and pick up some defensive stats to boost his floor.

Brighton also allow a decent amount of defensive stats, so that bodes well for Vladimir Coufal ($15) and his fantasy floor. He also has more attacking upside than any defender on the slate. His attacking ability from a defensive position has been a huge reason why WHU is having a successful season. He should be able to do damage against this relative defensive Brighton team, plus he should fare well with defensive stats on this slate too.

Whoever starts between Aaron Cresswell ($10) and Ryan Fredericks ($6) will be my final value defender on this slate. They both have some attacking upside as a left wingback for West Ham opposite Coufal and can both get good defensive stats in this game at a good price.

FanDuel DFS Goalkeepers

Boy, Alex McCarthy ($13) is expensive. However, he has a good matchup on paper. Southampton have been solid defensively at home allowing 1.3 goals per game. Plus, they have a good home record with 24 points from 17 games. What's even better, is that he's taking on a Fulham team that is struggling to score. They are scoring less than one goal per game on the road. McCarthy has a solid chance at both bonuses in this game which is not something he's had the opportunity for many times this season. His price makes my stomach turn - but if you can get over it - he is a nice play.

Lukasz Fabianski ($11) is the other GK I prefer on this slate. West Ham really needs the win Saturday - and their defense has been strong even away from home. They're facing a low-scoring Brighton team who will be without their starting striker due to a suspension. He will likely be the most popular goalkeeper on the slate.
