Erick Aybar has really settled into a role, seemingly unflinching in his quest to hit a few home runs every year alongside 15 steals and a .270s average.
Of course he now comes to the Braves instead of playing for the Angels, so his counting stats may take a step back, but for now he should bat second right ahead of the few decent bats the Braves have. He’s reliable if nothing else, playing in 156 games each of the past two seasons, and he has racked up 550+ plate appearances in every year since 2009.
He won’t creep near 100 runs and he won’t walk enough to have an OBP much higher than .300, but 70 runs, 5 homers, 40 RBIs, 15 steals, and a .270 average sound about right. He won’t be on many owners’ draft boards, but if you need a warm body at shortstop in NL only or deep league formats, you can do a lot worse than Aybar.
