FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (8/19/20): Daily Fantasy Hockey Advice

Wednesday brings five more first-round matchups featuring Colorado-Arizona along with Columbus squaring off against Tampa Bay.

Remember, when looking around for plays, an over/under of 6 dictates offense, but an over/under of 5 or sometimes 5.5 tilts towards the goalies. There are several games at 6.5, as that has become the new norm in hockey now more offense in the league than ever before.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/19/20. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @awlenn. Let's go!!

DFS Forwards to Consider

Nathan MacKinnon - C, COL vs. ARI (FD - $8,800, DK - $8,500)

Believe it or not, Nathan MacKinnon only had two assists as Colorado destroyed Arizona 7-1 in Game 4 of their first-round series matchup. MacKinnon has been dominant throughout the playoffs, which has raised the level of play of his teammates. In his last five games, the Avalanche sniper has two goals,  five helpers and 16 shots on goal.

Brad Marchand- LW, BOS vs. CAR (FD - $8,100, DK - $6,900)

Despite an injury and off ice distractions,  Boston is one win away from knocking Carolina out of the playoffs. Pesky Bruins forward Brad Marchand should be a player considered for your DFS lineups. The Halifax, Nova Scotia native has been on a tear in his last five games netting four goals and adding four assists.  Marchand has 21 shots on goal with a shooting percentage of 14.3 through seven games.

Others To Consider:

Nazem Kadri should be added to DFS lineups. The Avalanche forward has been a significant contributor through seven postseason games. He ranks third in NHL playoff points with four goals and five assists in seven games.

Carolina's Sebastian Aho still leads the league in playoff points with 11 (3G-8A).

Arguably the hardest working player in hockey, Blues center Ryan O'Reilly is one to watch. O'Reilly's play has improved considerably in the Blues last three games as he has potted three goals while adding three assists.

A player that always scores clutch goals in the playoffs is Blues forward David Perron. The 32-year-old has 15 goals and 32 assists in 90 career playoff games.

Other forwards worth looking into include Ellias PetterssonPierre-Luc Dubois, Bo Horvat, David Krejci, Nikita Kucherov.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Cale Makar - D, COL vs. ARI (FD - $5,900, DK - $6,000)

Like teammate Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar's play has been outstanding against the Coyotes. The scary thing is Makar is still considered a rookie. Makar scored a beautiful goal in Game 5 and has two goals and four assists in seven Avalanche postseason games.

Alex Pietrangelo - D, STL vs. Van (FD - $6,300, DK - $6,400)

Pietrangelo has been a rock on defense for the Blues since being drafted fourth overall by St.Louis in 2008. Pietrangelo and the Blues had a slow postseason start but have now won two in a row versus the Canucks. In his last five games,  Pietrangelo has a goal and four assists.

Other choices for Wednesday may include  Quinn Hughes, Seth Jones, Shea Weber, Charlie McAvoy, Zach Werenski, Victor Hedman, Travis Sanheim, Colton Paranko, Dougie Hamilton.

DFS Goalie to Consider

Joonas Korpisalo - G, CLB vs. TB (FD - $7,300, DK - $?)

Hard not to pick Joonas Korpisalo as your netminder, despite his team facing an uphill battle against the Lightning. His stunning 1.51 GAA is third-best in the playoffs. He has a record of three wins, three losses, and two shutouts.

If Philipp Grubaubauer starts for the Avalanche, he could potentially be a nice pickup for DFS lineups. The German-born goaltender is 4-0 with a .933 SV% and a 1.59 goals-against average. He also has one shutout.

Flyer's goalie Carter Hart should be considered for your DFS lineup. Hart has been solid all postseason long for the Flyers.

Carey Price is usually not a bad choice as your DFS goaltender. Price leads the league in goals-against average with 1.40 and a save percentage of .953.

Last but not least, Tampa Bay's Andrei  Vasilevski may be worth looking into. The Russian netminder has four wins and two losses in seven games for the Lightning.
