FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (8/26/20): Daily Fantasy Hockey Advice

Second round postseason action continues Wednesday! Games begin at 6 pm EST as the York Islanders face the Philadelphia Flyers. The second of the three-game slate features Tampa Bay-Boston starting at 8 pm EST. If you're still awake, the nightcap has Colorado up against Dallas at 10:30 pm EST.

Islanders lead the Flyers 1-0 going into Game 2, while Boston and Tampa Bay are tied 1-1 in their series. Finally, the Avalanche find themselves down 2-0  to Dallas heading into game Game 3. Remember, when looking around for plays, an over/under of 6 dictates offense, but an over/under of 5 or sometimes 5.5 tilts towards the goalies.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel for August 26th, 2020. The picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. For Wednesday, FanDuel, and DraftKings have the option to set a lineup for just two games or create a lineup for all three games scheduled if desired. DFS Forwards to Consider Fan

Nathan MacKinnon - C, COL vs. DAL (FD - $8,800, DK - $8,500)

Colorado has caught the injury bug in a hard-fought series versus Dallas. In a 5-2 Game 2 loss, the Avalanche managed to go 2/8 on the power play with MacKinnon factoring in both tallies with a goal and an assist. The centerman leads the playoffs in a multitude of stats categories, including goals (7), points (18), and shots on goal with 47. His average of 1.80 points per game is tops amongst his Avs teammates. Another bright spot for Colorado was that their top line of Gabriel Landeskog, Mikko Rantanen, and Mackinnon combined for 18 of the teams 40 shots in Game 2. These three Avalanche players could be easily stacked on to prospective DFS lineups with these linemates being on the team's first powerplay unit.

Brad Marchand - LW, BOS vs. TB (FD - $7,800, DK - $6,600)

Brad Marchand continues to be successful and should be an automatic pick for DFS lineups. Despite a 4-3 Bruins overtime loss, Marchand still added two goals to his playoff total and now has six. It always helps to have David Pastrnak and Patrice Bergeron as linemates.  The veteran forwards are a force on the team's first powerplay unit, combining for four goals on the powerplay thus far.

Others To Consider:

If one is considering stacking their DFS lineup with Colorado players, Nazem Kadri could be a good pick. The second line center leads the playoffs in powerplay goals with five.

David Krejci may be a strong option to add to DFS lineups. The Czech forward had no points in his last game but has been consistent otherwise for Boston.

Lightning Forward Brayden Point added another point with an assist in a Tampa Bay Game 2 defeat over Boston.

Other forwards worth looking into include Nikita Kucherov, Jamie Benn. Tyler Seguin, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Anthony Beauvillier, Denis Guryanov, Matthew Barzel, Sean Couturier, Jakub Voracek

DFS Defenders to Consider

Miro Heiskanen - D, COL vs. DAL (FD - $5,800, DK - $5,700)

21-year-old defenseman Miro Heiskananen continues to shine for the Dallas Stars. The budding superstar is tied with Nathan MacKinnon for the league lead in playoff assists. The Finnish defenseman is averaging 25:56 minutes of ice time a night and has 17 blocked shots in the postseason.

Victor Hedman - D, BOS vs. TB (FD - $6,700, DK - $5,500)

Victor Hedman added his third assist of the playoffs. Amongst defenseman Hedman ranks third with 36 shots on goal and a shooting percentage of 8.3%. Hedman's play has steadily improved after having an injury scare in round-robin play.

Other choices for Monday may include Torey Krug, Charlie McAvoy, Kevin Shattenkirk, John Klingberg, Cale Makar, Ryan Pulock, Ivan Provorov.

DFS Goalie to Consider

Seymon Varmalov - G, NYI vs. PHI (FD - $8,400,  DK- $7,400)

Islanders netminder Seymon Varmalov has started all ten games for the Islanders with a record of eight wins and just two losses. He now has two shutouts with an impressive 1.50 GAA and a .941 SV%.

On the other hand, Carter Hart may be a good choice for your DFS lineups. Hart has played in nine games postseason games for the Flyers with a record of six wins and three losses. He has also posted two shutouts with a GAA of 1.86 and a .938 SV%.
