It’s Labor Day, and the Eastern Conference Finals begins at 8 pm EST. The Tampa Bay Lightning will be all set to take on the scrappy New York Islanders. The last time New York made the Eastern Conference Finals was way back in 1993. In contrast, Tampa Bay has made the conference final twice in the previous three years.
Remember, an over/under of 6 dictates offense when looking around for plays, but an over/under of 5 or sometimes 5.5 tilts towards the goalies. Tough choices have to be made with only one game being played tonight!
This article will provide you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel for September 7, 2020. The picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. For Monday, DraftKings will only be offering the NHL Showdown Captain Mode for contestants. Participants can learn more about the rules for NHL Showdown Captain Mode through the following link www.draftkings.com/help/rules/3/127.FanDuel provides a somewhat similar format where a participant would select a captain and four utility players under a $55,000 salary cap. DFS Forwards to Consider
Nikita Kucherov - RW, TB vs. NYI (FD - $14,o00, DK - $15,300)
Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Jon Cooper said Nikita Kucherov would be playing in Game 1 against the Islanders. Kucherov has been out of Tampa Bay's lineup since Game 5 of their second-round series against Boston with an undisclosed injury. With having a week off and being hopefully healthy, The Russian forward should be a strong pick under the Captain slot for DFS lineups. The Captain in DraftKings and Fanduel is a crucial pick to add to a roster since the player you draft will earn 1.5x the standard fantasy point value for each statistic. Before getting hurt, Kucherov was putting up points on a nightly basis. Playing in 13 games in August, Kucherov netted four goals and added 12 assists.
Brayden Point- C, TB vs. NYI (FD - $15,500, DK - $13,500)
Besides having a strong regular season for Tampa Bay, center Brayden Point has excelled in the postseason for his team as well. Point is riding a six-game point streak going into the Eastern Conference Finals. In-Game five last series against Boston, Point had two assists with two shots on goal. He would fit nicely into a DFS Lineup as a flex/utility player or potentially even as a lineups captain.
Others To Consider
Islanders center Mathew Barzal has been a spark plug in the Islanders lineup all season long. Barzal has scored two goals and added two assists in his last five playoff games.
Brock Nelson may be an option as a flex roster spot. The Islanders forward was a huge factor in defeating the Flyers in seven-games during second-round playoff action. The Warroad, Minnesota native has seven goals and eight assists in 16 Islanders playoff games.
Other forwards worth looking into include Anthony Beauvillier, Anders Lee, Ondrej Palat, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Anthony Cirelli, Josh Bailey.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Victor Hedman - D, TB vs. NYI (FD - $10,000, DK - $,12,900)
If you decide on a defenseman for a flex/utility spot, Tampa Bays Victor Hedman should be one to consider. Hedman logs a ton of ice time for the Lightning averaging 26:00 of ice time through 13 playoff games. The Swedish defenseman has five goals and nine points in 12 playoff games and is a plus-11 rating.
Other choices for Monday may include Mikhail Sergachev, Ryan Pulock, Devon Toews, Kevin Shattenkirk.
DFS Goalie to Consider
Andrei Vasilevskiy- G, TB vs. NYI (FD - DK- $10,800)
If a DraftKings contestant decides to take a goalie, Lightning netminder Andrei Vasilevskiy is a captain or flex/utility pick option. Vasllevskiy play has been stellar for many years while playing for Tampa Bay. Through 13 Lightning playoff games, the Russian goaltender has a record of ten wins, three losses, and a goals-against-average of 1.91.
