There are 11 games going on on our Monday, but only nine of them agreed to start at 7pm Eastern or later. Those are the chosen ones for our main FanDuel tournaments. Three pitchers tip the scales in five figures, so we have some good options out there. Who can we pair with them if we cant to pay up? That's what we'll try and help with.
There is a slight chance of rain in D.C., but even if a cell pops over the stadium, it should only be a delay and not a postponement. That's good news since the heat and humidity in the nation's capitol makes that the best hitting conditions on the slate.
I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 8/30/2021. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. FanDuel DFS Pitchers
Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:
Robbie Ray – TOR vs. BAL ($10,900)
We probably shouldn't get too cute with this one. Zack Wheeler has struggled a little bit lately. Compared to Ray, at least. Ray has a 1.78 ERA in his last ten starts. It's no coincidence that this hot streak began when the Jays flew north for the summer. He has only given up four runs in four starts at Rogers Centre and has racked up 34 strikeouts in those four games. Baltimore is a team that strikes out a ton too. Ray has 25 strikeouts in 15 innings over his last two starts. Don't rule out another lofty total tonight.
Potential Alternate Play
Josiah Gray – WAS vs. PHI ($8,100)
Gray has rattled off three straight quality starts and has a 3.00 ERA since being traded from the Dodgers. The strikeouts are there too. Gray has 27 strikeouts in 23 innings over his last four starts. We aren't going to see Gray eat the innings that Ray and Wheeler will, but he has been very effective in this innings that he's given. You just have to decide if the extra $2,800 in your bank is worth it.

FanDuel DFS Infielders
Luke Voit – 1B, NYY at LAA ($3,200)
Voit is hitting .357 with three homers and 10 RBI in the last ten games. This is a dream matchup for Voit against struggling lefty Jose Quintana. He has only made one start since May 30th. He lasted just 1.1 innings against Detroit, allowing six runs (five earned). This is likely going to be another forgettable start for Quintana. Voit and his hot streak will be part of the reason why.
Kolten Wong – 2B, MIL at SF ($3,400)
The issue hasn't been how Cueto is pitching. It has been the fact that he hasn't been going deep into games. Wong is hitting .306 with two homers, 11 RBI, and eight runs scored in the last ten games. I don't expect a big blowup here, but Cueto didn't pitch all that well against the Brewers on August 8. I'll take the hot-hitting Wong to have the upper hand tonight.
Joey Wendle – 3B, TB vs. BOS ($2,600)
Wendle has been swinging a hot bat of late and it finally paid off yesterday. He smacked two homers and drove in six runs against the struggling Orioles. Now he heads up the eastern seaboard to face the struggling Nick Pivetta. Pivetta gave up three runs against the Rays back on August 1 after dominating them twice earlier this season. I still don't trust Pivetta and the Rays can be nice value here.
Fernando Tatis Jr. – SS/OF, SD at ARI ($4,500)
We can't go cheap everywhere, nor should we want to. Especially when we have a guy like Tatis facing rookie Tyler Gilbert, who no-hit the Padres back on August 14 in his first career start. Don't expect a repeat in hitter-friendly Chase Field. In fact, I think Tatis and friends are going to be looking to light him up tonight.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
Aaron Judge – OF, NYY at LAA ($5,400)
I'm going after Jose Quintana, and there are enough Yankees righties hitting well enough to make me feel pretty good about it. Judge is hitting .361 with three homers, nine RBI, seven runs, and two steals in the last ten games. He just hit two of those homers up in Oakland over the weekend. Give me Judge while he's hitting like this!
Christian Yelich – OF, MIL at SF ($3,500)
It has been a tough season for Yelich, but he is finally starting to hit of late. It took him long enough! Yelich is hitting .382 with two homers, nine RBI, six runs scored, and a steal over the last ten games. He is also a strong 6-for-19 with a homer, a steal, six runs scored, and five RBI in his career against Johnny Cueto. It looks like Yelich's hot streak should continue here.
Justin Upton – OF, LAA vs. NYY ($2,700)
Upton returned to the lineup on Friday, so at least he's healthy. That might be enough against Corey Kluber and definitely will be enough against Andrew Heaney, the long reliever. Upton is only 5-for-22 against Klubot in his career, but three of those hits are home runs and he has stolen a base. The power potential is the only reason that we play Upton anymore anyway. He provides good career numbers at a price low enough to help us afford our expensive taste elsewhere.
