FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (9/14/20): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

It's hard to believe that there are only two weeks of the regular season left, but we are already halfway through September, and the playoff races are heating up more by the day. Unfortunately, there are only four games eligible to play on FanDuel today because of some doubleheaders and makeups, but we will power through nonetheless. Another tough pill to swallow today is the Los Angeles Dodgers-San Diego Padres matchup, where Clayton Kershaw and Dinelson Lamet face off. With those two on the mound, I am heavily fading both lineups in what should be a great pitcher's duel.

This article will focus on the players available in the all-day slate. That includes the three games on the regular main slate, but with such few options available, I wanted to touch on as many games as possible to kick off the week.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 9/14/2020. Be sure also to check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like DraftKings, and other sports too.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Jose Berrios - MIN @ CWS ($9,200)

After an August 15th outing versus the Kansas City Royals, Jose Berrios had a 5.92 ERA and was averaging 21.4 fantasy points per game. However, since that start, the 21-year-old has turned his season around and seems to be peaking at precisely the right time. In his last four games, Berrios is 3-1 with a 2.78 ERA and 1.06 WHIP to go along with 31 strikeouts in 22 2/3 innings. The right-hander is averaging 41.5 FPPG, and that includes a 49-point start against this same Chicago White Sox team he faces today. Berrios threw six innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts to earn the win and the quality start. He's a little cheaper than Clayton Kershaw and Dinelson Lamet but has a similar upside versus a team that strikeouts 25.3 percent of the time versus righties in 2020.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Freddie Freeman, 1B - ATL @ BAL ($4,300)

Since the calendar flipped the September, Freddie Freeman has been destroying the baseball. In 12 games this month, the first baseman has five home runs, four doubles, 22 RBI, and is slashing .383/.491/.787 with a .513 weighted on-base average. It gets even better versus right-handed pitching as Freeman has a 1.478 OPS in the platoon advantage during the final month of the regular season. Today, he gets to step into Camden Yards and attempt to launch a couple of home runs into the B&O Warehouse behind right field.

Marwin Gonzalez, 2B -MIN @ CWS ($2,500)

At second base, I'm going with the hot bat and recommending Marwin Gonzalez. On the season, he has a putrid .598 OPS, but over the weekend, he showed signs of life with home runs in back to back games. It could be a flash in the pan hot streak for Gonzalez, but at $2,500, I'm willing to ride it until it flames out.

Alec Bohm, 3B - PHI @ MIA ($2,600)

Alec Bohm seems to be a perfect situation where the pricing of the player has not caught up to his production on FanDuel. The slugger has been having a field day in this long series with the Miami Marlins. He's played six games versus the Marlins since Thursday and has one home run, four doubles, four RBI, and six runs. The rookie was also moved up the lineup and hit cleanup on Sunday in both games of the doubleheader. If that sticks, it will only help to continue his recent production, where he is averaging 15 FPPG in the series.

Jose Iglesias, SS - BAL vs. ATL ($2,800)

Iglesias has been a regular in the Orioles' lineup this year and has batted third in 22 games. He has been great at home this season, with six doubles in 12 games and a .341/.386/.488 slash line. The shortstop will go against Atlanta Braves pitcher Touki Toussaint in a favorable matchup on Monday. Toussaint carries a 7.89 ERA and 6.10 FIP into the tilt, and right-handed batters have a .625 slugging percentage off the 24-year-old on the road this season. In a park with the dimensions of Camden Yards, any hard-hit ball has a chance of leaving the diamond. Iglesias has yet to record a home run in 2020, but against Toussaint and his 30 percent home run to fly ball rate, tonight could be the night he gets his first of the year.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Nelson Cruz, OF - MIN @ CWS ($4,200)

I'm not sure what deal Nelson Cruz made with father time, but father time got ripped off. Cruz is putting together an MVP-like season in his age-40 season. The slugger leads the AL with a 1.072 OPS and is leading the entire majors with a 192 OPS+. Nothing seems to slow this man down, and I don't think the Chicago White Sox and Dylan Cease have the answer either. Another thing to consider is that Cruz is mashing at Guaranteed Rate Field this season to the tune of a .375/.500/1.125 slash line and has three home runs and 10 RBI in his three games on the South Side this year. He's an easy bat to build around tonight.

Adam Duvall, OF - ATL @ BAL ($3,000)

I'm leaning towards a bit of a mini-stack with this pick as I like the Braves to beat up on Jorge Lopez and the Baltimore Orioles on Monday. Duvall has eclipsed 15 fantasy points in six of his last 12 games, and he will look to make it seven of 13 tonight. Over that 12-game span, Duvall has hit .298/.353/.894 with four doubles, eight home runs, and 16 RBI. Yes, it has come in spurts, but it's hard to sit a man that has produced 63.1 and 89.5 fantasy points in two of his most recent outings. He won't reach those heights on Monday, but he should return value at his current price point.

Corey Dickerson, OF - MIA vs. PHI ($2,600)

With there being quite a few high-priced bats to fit into our lineups tonight, it's going to take some belt-tightening at other spots. Luckily, Corey Dickerson is only $2,600 in a platoon advantage versus the always erratic Vince Velasquez. Dickerson has been hot over the last seven days with a .321/.387/.429 slash line and all three of his home runs this season have come off a right-hander. He's also projected to leadoff for a Marlins team that is scoring 4.7 runs per game versus the Philadelphia Phillies in this bizarre seven-game series of makeups and doubleheaders. Dickerson is some much-needed salary relief with some upside in a shortened slate.
