Pricing on this 8 game Tuesday slate is incredibly tight to start the day. Some news should come down during the day (hopefully) to loosen things up a bit. That said, this article will focus on some building blocks that I will center my teams around on Tuesday night and then filling in around as we get news.
James Harden is my cash game lock of the night, as for right now there isn’t enough value on the slate to get up to Anthony Davis. There are a number of injury situations to keep an eye on during the day, including Kelly Oubre in Washington, Miami’s entire rotation, and the tanking Hawks.
Below you will find our daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 3/6/18. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options, to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too..
FanDuel DFS Guards
Isaiah Taylor - PG, @TOR ($3,900)
For right now, the best two spots for salary relief appear to be in Atlanta, where both DeAndre Bembry and Malcolm Delaney will be out, and in New Orleans where Emeka Okafor may sit. Between those two I’d strongly prefer to take my flier in Atlanta where it’s more likely that backups (and cheap plays) will get minutes in an effort to lose. This contrasts with New Orleans who will be stretching their starters (Nikola Mirotic and Anthony Davis) to play big minutes in a pivotal Western Conference matchup. As for Taylor himself, he has shown an upside of 25 FD points in games where he sees over 20 minutes. He should get those minutes tonight so even in a tough defensive matchup against the Raptors, he’s a punt option to consider.
James Harden - SG, @OKC ($11,400)
Harden is a pretty easy building block in cash games, as getting up to Anthony Davis would be exceptionally difficult given the current state of the slate. Harden can excel in any matchup but the Thunder have struggled against opposing shooting guards since Andre Roberson went down. Those two factors are all I need to make make him my cash game building block for the slate.
FanDuel DFS Forwards
Taurean Prince - SF, @TOR ($5,300)
Admittedly it’s a bit strange to target two players on one of the worst teams in the league against one of the best defensive teams in the league, but I'll likely be doing that tonight as the Hawks square off against the Raptors. The benefit of rostering Prince is that he’s played heavy minutes and seen his usage rate increase 5.3% over his past five games. His minutes are insulated tonight as DeAndre Bembry has already been ruled out, thinning out Atlanta's wings. Likewise OG Anunoby is also out, which should ease the matchup at least a bit. Prince's price has seen a marginal uptick, but not to the point where his upside is priced out.
Paul Millsap - PF, @DAL ($6,100)
Like most other teams in the Western Conference, if the Nuggets are going to make the playoffs they’ll need to beat up on teams like the Mavs. The reintegration of Millsap into their lineup has been a positive, but he has yet to play a full complement of minutes. He played 26 minutes in a relatively easy win over the Cavs on the back end of a back-to-back on Saturday night and still nearly returned value on his current price tag. After a few days of rest, it is reasonable to expect that his minutes bump up closer to 30. If they do, he should be able to provide some nice return on investment as he has provided great defensive stats, which FanDuel rewards heavily. This may be the last chance to grab Millsap before his price climbs above 7K and is a buying opportunity as a result, though isn’t without risk.
FanDuel DFS Centers
Clint Capela - C, @OKC, ($7,500)
This matchup isn’t necessarily one to target as the Thunder don’t jump off the page as a positive matchup. Instead, using Capela tonight is looking to take advantage of his price, which is at its lowest price since the beginning of February. In terms of raw points, Capela has scored at least 30 FD points in 66% of games this season meaning he should have a floor of returning around 4X. Hassan Whiteside is the only cheaper player to hit a 30 point floor more frequently and at a lower price point. However, Capela also boasts a higher ceiling than similarly priced centers on the slate, hitting 40 FD points at a greater rate than DeAndre Jordan, Whiteside, or Dwight Howard. With no matchup standing out at center, Capela is at a price point worth attacking on Tuesday night.
