Hitter Streamers for 6/10 - Shallow Leagues
Alex Kirilloff (1B/OF, MIN) - 40% rostered
Matchup: vs. RHP Michael King
Kirilloff was off to a torrid MLB start by showcasing plenty of power. However, that massive thump also came with a 25% K-rate. In the last two weeks, as he became acclimated with MLB-level pitching, the strikeouts have subsided. He hasn't cracked a dinger in June, but today looks like a terrific opportunity for that to change. Three of his four HRs have come off RHP and .510 xwOBAcon, with a nearly 15% barrel rate suggest any ball in play gets crushed.
AJ Pollock (OF, LAD) - 46% rostered
Matchup: @ RHP Mitch Keller
Since returning from the IL, Pollock has recorded a hit in four of his last five games. However, he is still looking for that "get-right" game with a massive output. Today, against Mitch Keller, might be just the day. His hard-hit rate(48.8%) is well above his career mark, and the barrel rate still sits near 10%. Put that production at the plate up against an SP with control issues that give up too many HRs, and boom!
Brad Miller (1B/2B/3B/OF, PHI) - 24% rostered
Matchup: vs RHP Ian Anderson
The matchup against Ian Anderson is a tougher one for a streaming option, but Miller has been excellent against RHP. In 82 ABs, Miller is putting up a .280/.352/.451 slash line with .803 OPs. Additionally, he has collected seven extra-base hits(three doubles, one triple, three HRs). It's all or nothing at times for Miller since his K% is over 30%. Let's hope today is an "all" day, and he adds to his 49% hard-hit rate.
Hitter Streamers for 6/10 - Deep Leagues
Niko Goodrum (1B/2B/SS/OF, DET) - 16% rostered
Matchup: vs. LHP Justus Sheffield
Goodrum has become a terrific source of power and speed. This is evident by his four HRs and 11 stolen bases. Unfortunately, the batting average(.208) has been a total drain, and his strikeout rate is well above 30%. Nevertheless, this matchup could play into Goodrum's hand nicely because his OBP vs. LHP is .328, and Sheffield has a 17% K-rate. Therefore, there is a solid chance of an SB if Goodrum reaches.
Jon Berti (2B/3B/SS/OF, MIA) - 9% rostered
Matchup: vs. RHP Chi Chi Gonzalez
Do I keep putting Jon Berti in the streamers article each week? Absolutely! The Marlins uber-utility man has found himself every day playing time. Now, look past the .190 batting average for a moment because we are only trying to get him in the lineup for stolen bases. Berti touts the 99th percentile in sprint speed, which has aided in him swiping four bags on the season. Does he hit for power? No, this is only an option if you're chasing speed!
Miguel Andujar (3B/OF, NYY) - 15% rostered
Matchup: @ LHP J.A. Happ
Looking for a deep league thumper? Andujar is the perfect option for you! Think back to 2018(I know, it's far back), but Andujar put up 74 extra-base hits in that season. 74! He is back in the lineup, full-time, and raking. The .943 OPS over the past two weeks can attest to that. Statcast backs up his production as well: 47% hard-hit rate, 9.7% barrel rate, and .419 xwOBAcon. Lastly, on the season, he is slugging .556 vs. LHP.
Pitcher Streamers for 6/10 - Shallow Leagues
Justus Sheffield (SP, SEA) - 22% rostered
Matchup: @ DET Tyler Alexander
The streaming options at SP are relatively weak, but Sheffield has upside potential and a favorable matchup that piques my interest. In 54 innings pitched, Sheffield's 17.1% K-rate gives you chills at how low it is. The unfortunate part is not only the lack of strikeouts, but his walk rate keeps hovering around 9%. Ideally, if a pitcher is trading Ks for ground-outs, we also want the walks to decrease. However, the main reason Sheffield is the stream SP of the day is his matchup. The Tigers are a subpar team, especially against LHPs. They sport a 77 wRC+ and 30% K-rate vs. LHP; both are well below league-average.
