ANALYSIS: All hail the 'stache! Garden Minshew II took the game just where he left him last season, put on the superhero suit again, and completed a masterpiece to the tune of completing 19 of 20 attempts for 173 yards, 3 TDs, and no interceptions (plus some extra 19 yards rushing on five carries) in the Jaguars victorious debut against Indianapolis this past Sunday. Take that one, haters.
If there is anyone on his way to derail the Jaguars tanking efforts, that's Minshew. The second-year starter reached 26.8 PPR points this Sunday while completing just 19 passes and rushing the ball five times, which means he averaged a ridiculous 1.11 fantasy points per play he successfully ran. That's a stupid statistic, sure, but ranked fifth among QBs with at least 3 rushing attempts.
Minshew was one of the most steady fantasy players last season, finishing 12 of his 16 games with between 15 and 30 PPR and only two of them at 6.3 and 12.2. That's insane. He averaged 19.7 PPG last season with a minimal deviation from that mark weekly. Minshew might not have the best teammates, the rushing upside of others, nor throw monster volume. What Minshew will provide, for sure, on a weekly basis, is a steady stream of fantasy points to whoever rosters and plays him. Make sure to be the one that does so.
