ANALYSIS: Jacob Tamme put another good game up on Sunday, catching five of six targets for 69 yards. As you may or may not be aware, Jacob Tamme’s performance seems to be tethered to Leonard Hankerson’s health. When Hankerson doesn’t play, Tamme has a great game as he becomes the real slot option for Atlanta (with target totals of 12,10, and 6). When Hankerson does play, Tamme seems to take a backseat in a major way to Leonard (averaging about five targets a game). He has only scored once all year, but it’s still worth noting that his usage has increased lately. It’s also worth noting that the game he scored in was against Tampa Bay, who struggles against routes over the middle (though they’ve improved lately). Hankerson was inactive for that game.
So the kicker is Hankerson’s health. Unfortunately for Tamme owners and those speculating on him, Hankerson appears that he is ready to go for Week 13. If you’re reading this and Hankerson is available in your league, you should take a look at him if he was tossed back into the free agent pool due to his missing last week’s game. Tamme is best left as a watch list type right now, but if you're in a deeper league and he's available you should scoop him up, as Hankerson could have a setback and the Buccaneers defense gives Tamme as good a shot at standalone value as you’ll get. The Falcons also face the tough Panthers defense in Weeks 14 and 16, which usually correlate with the first round and championship round of the fantasy playoffs. Nota Bene folks.
