BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 26% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Washington Nationals starting pitcher Jeremy Hellickson may not be on the Braves and, he might be on the DL, but he still pitches in the NL East and has already shown a form capable of an ERA in the low threes and a WHIP that can sniff 1.00. He is not dealing big strikeouts, but his ratios should be useful in an age where you can find strikeouts more readily.
While you should not buy him as a 2.28 ERA guy, over nine starts he had compiled a 3.28 FIP/3.32 xFIP/3.56 SIERA before getting hurt and he supposedly threw a simulated game on Tuesday. Even if his ERA moves closer to his FIP, he still has a career-best ground ball rate of 47.9% and will continue to limit damage.
Reports say he could be back as soon as this weekend, so it is wise to hop on now before a return date is formally announced. He is a great option in deeper leagues and is quickly becoming a player to own in all formats.
