BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 1% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Washington Nationals starting pitcher Joe Ross is set to start against the Cubs at home on Friday, which will be his first MLB appearance since undergoing Tommy John surgery 14 months ago. At just 25 years old, Ross could be a useful piece in 12-team leagues down the stretch.
He struck out 19 and walked eight over 26 ⅓ rehab innings and we can get a look to see if that sinker is working. Before getting hurt in 2017 (where he had a 5.01 ERA), Ross had a 3.52 ERA in 181 2/3 innings from 2015-2016. He also allowed less than a hit per inning (172) and struck out 162 batters while walking just 50. Considering that the Nationals have a rotation spot open with Gio Gonzalez now in Milwaukee, look for him to get the ball every fifth day for the remainder of the season.
