ANALYSIS: Kole Calhoun was abysmal for the majority of last season. Taking into consideration the fact that he was never a flashy fantasy asset even in his four prior productive seasons, perhaps it shouldn't come as a surprise that he remains unowned in nearly 80% of Yahoo leagues. When you look at his current performance, however, that figure becomes harder to reconcile.

Calhoun is only hitting .239 in his 61 games thus far, but he's also launched 13 home runs, totaled 73 R+BI, and even chipped in three stolen bases for good measure. It may also be fair to expect the average to rise; his current .256 BABIP is over 30 points lower than his career .290 mark. Calhoun is hitting the ball hard as usual, and hitting it in the air more often than ever. Already halfway to his career high of 26 homers, he could easily clear 30 when it's all said and done.

Owners in need of an offensive boost are encouraged to seek out his services. There aren't many better players this widely available.
