BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 35% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: After a shaky start to the season, Gibson has really started to settle down. In his last six outings, he’s turned in three quality starts. His career-best 9.1 Ks per 9 so far this year shows a shift in his approach that’s extremely favorable to fantasy. He’s coming off a year where he delivered a steady 3.62 ERA in nearly 200 innings, but only 8.2 Ks per 9.
If he can maintain close to his current K-rate while keeping his ERA close to last season’s, there’s a lot to like here. The Twins hold one of the league’s best records and sit atop what appears to be the league’s worst offensive division, making him a strong candidate for wins all year.
Two of Gibson’s next three matchups are against AL Central teams, starting with a favorable home matchup against the White Sox this Saturday. Even better, 10 of the Twins last 12 series of the season are against the AL Central. So if your team’s off to a strong start and you’ve got your eyes set on the postseason, Gibson is a great target to bolster your rest of season rotation.
