Welcome back summoners, to another LOL breakdown article featuring Five matchups tomorrow from the LPL and LCK. Let's see where we can find angles to attack the next slate.
Roster changes will be addressed if need be when mentioning each team. As a friendly reminder, if you can't stomach any sub risk or don't enjoy waking up early, then figure a way to roster players that don't hold any sub risk.
I'll provide my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LPL & LCK slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 3:00 AM on Thursday, August 5th, 2021. If you have any questions about the slate or anything please reach out to me on Twitter @nolanroth10. I'll do my best to provide some useful analysis. The odds listed are from Bovada. Let's jump right into the matchups!

CAPTAIN/STAR
Prince- LSB: Prince leads LSB in kills with 131 and carries a 30.5% kill share. Finding a value play at captain will help to fit EDG players into your lineup which is where you want to go on this slate. Prince also dies the least amount of any player on LSB so you don't have to worry about him being taken down early in drawn-out team fights
Viper - EDG: If you can find a way to afford Viper in this spot lock him in. EDG is my favorite play on the board for this slate and Viper leads the team in kill share at 27.7%. He also has an 89% counter pick rate which allows him to play advantageous lane matchups.
TOP
Summit - LSB: Summit is a better price on DK so that is where I would recommend playing him. In LSB's last three matchups he has put up assist totals of 19,18,19. He has been much more involved recently and his price doesn't reflect his recent surge.
Cube - RA: Cube is in the top five in kill share for top laners with at least 30 games played this split. While he likely never gives you 100 points, he is a safe play in a matchup RA should win. He also leads RA in counter pick percentage, so they are happy letting Cube pick top lane matchups he wants to play.

JUNGLE
JeiJei- EDG: The only two games that JieJie has not been the starting jungler for EDG this split has resulted in losses, meanwhile they have an 81% win rate with him in the lineup. He has a 71.7% kill participation which is exactly what you want to see out of your jungler. He may not be finishing off the kills, but that is why you will want to pair him up with more kill dominant players on his team.
Canyon- DWG: Canyon is one of the best junglers in the world and leads DWG in kill participation at 70.7%. He averages an XP difference at 10 minutes of 119 and is positive in both gold and cs differences at the 10-minute mark as well. Canyon has reached 20 assists in 3 of his last 5 matchups while just falling short at 17 in the other two,
MID
Scout - EDG: Scout is second to Viper on EDG in kill share and is one of my top plays on the slate. In EDG's last three wins Scout is averaging 94.95 DK points giving him one of the highest upsides on the entire slate.
Showmaker - DWG: Showmaker has toped 100 DK points in both of DWG's last two wins. He has the highest kill share on the team at 26.6% and if playing Canyon and jungle, Showmaker makes for a great mid-lane selection.
ADC
Prince - LSB: I will be looking to pair both ADC's together listed in the captain breakdown.
Viper - EDG: If you couldn't afford Viper at captain, lock him in here
SUPPORT
Meiko - EDG: Meiko is second to JeiJei in kill participation at 71.2% and is the top support play of the slate. Look to pair him up with Viper wherever you can.
Effort - LSB: Effort is $1000 cheaper than Meiko on DK but only $200 on FD. I would play Meiko every time on FD but the $1000 savings on DK allow you a lot more flexibility to fit in other EDG members. Effort is second on LSB in kill participation.
TEAM
DWG: DWG is the biggest favorite on the slate. While some of their games don't feature the kill totals needed to put up big points for their players, the number of kills doesn't matter in the team slot. DWG lead the LCK in dragon and baron control.
LSB: I am rocking with LSB in this matchup against HLE and they are one of the cheaper options for the team slot. HLE is second last in the league in both dragon and baron control, whereas LSB is in the top half in both. LSB should have no trouble securing the majority of the neutral objectives this series.
FINAL THOUGHTS
EDG is really expensive on this slate, but in my opinion, you need to find a way to fit as many of them in as you can. I really don't like this slate of games even with us getting the fifth matchup compared to the usual four-game slate. EDG, LSB, and DWG are where the majority of my lineups are going with a few one-off plays throughout.
That's it, for now, Summoners, good luck tomorrow!
