ANALYSIS: Watching the Monday Night Football tilt between the Bengals and Texans did not yield a lot of smiles for fantasy owners outside of those who had the defenses, but there were still bright spots. One such bright spot would be Marvin Jones. Your eyebrows might be doing some work reading that as you ponder how I could write that when I’m surely aware of Jones’ stat line of four receptions for 44 yards.
Dig a little deeper and look at the target count for all of the Bengals receiving options and you will find Marvin Jones’ name at the top. Jones ended the game with nine targets (Giovani Bernard had eight, A.J. Green and Tyler Eifert had seven each), and while over half of them didn’t turn into catches, it shows that he is absolutely involved in that offense and that Andy Dalton looks his way. Dalton had his own respective issues with putting the ball where it needed to be on Monday night, but Jones is averaging eight targets per game in the last five games. In an offense that (usually) puts up plenty of points, eight targets can turn into double digit points rather easily, especially for those of you in PPR leagues. Jones and the Bengals get the Cardinals, Rams, Browns, Steelers, 49ers, Broncos, and Ravens the rest of the way. Three tougher draws (ARI, STL, DEN) and four softer ones. Don't forget about Marvin.
