BALLER MOVE: Add in 15+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 33% of leagues
ANALYSIS: This is an amazing year to follow the top prospects and baseball and their potential big league arrivals, let alone the top pitchers of tomorrow like Grayson Rodriguez, Max Meyer, George Kirby, and most recently; Cardinals southpaw Matthew Liberatore. The 6'4, 200-lb. Arizona native was largely considered a top-50 prospect heading into 2022 based off of his 3.43 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 275.2 IP through his minor league career with a 3.99 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 2.5 BB/9, and 9.2 K/9 in 164.2 IP over two seasons with Triple-A Memphis.
His MLB debut didn't go horribly, with Liberatore allowing four ER and a HR in 4.2 IP with three K and two BB against the Pirates on Saturday. He quickly displayed a wide-ranging repertoire, and while he allowed a decent amount of hard contact in his initial showing, his .375 opponent BABIP demonstrates that he might have had an ill go of it against the Pirates in round one. Debut appearances aside, Matthew Liberatore has Team USA and Future Game experience, a LHP delivery/arsenal that should vex opponents, and a minor league track record that more-than suggests he is an investment worth making for Fantasy Baseball Managers in deeper formats.
