Can basketball just end? We've been grinding it out all season, and are ready for something a little fresher.
It's officially MLB season, and with that comes all sorts of fantasy baseball fun. RotoBaller has you covered with lots of great seasonal league coverage, and also MLB DFS advice to help with your FanDuel lineups.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 4/10/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.
DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel
Colorado Rockies
The Colorado Rockies are at home tonight against the San Diego Padres. Tyson Ross is now on the 15-day DL and will not pitch is going to be on the mound, but he looked terrible in his first outing, and the Rockies are always great at home. Do not stray from what works.
San Diego Padres
The San Diego Padres are also a great stack tonight considering they get the Coors' bump. The Coors' bump can make even the worst offenses into the best. The Padres have a ton of great power hitters just waiting to explode. Use them.
Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pittsburgh Pirates get a great matchup against the Cincinnati Reds tonight. The Reds are starting Tim Melville, and the Pirates should be able to take advantage of that. They have a solid hitting lineup, and this is the first time they are facing someone of Melville's caliber.
Toronto Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays make for a great stack any time they play at home. Tonight, Steven Wright, from the Boston Red Sox, is going to attempt to shut them down. Good luck, kid.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel
Matt Harvey is the best pitching option on the board tonight, as he faces off against the Philadelphia Phillies' offense, which is one of the worst offenses in the league. Harvey is one of the best pitchers in the league, and after a less than ideal start to the season against the Kansas City Royals, he will be looking to get that first win under his belt.
Dallas Keuchel is one of the better starting pitchers in the league, and the Milwaukee Brewers are one of the worst offenses in the league. Keuchel has a great K-rate, and he should be able to post solid numbers tonight, even though he is pitching away from home. He looked solid in New York against the Yankees, and he will look even better tonight.
Joe Ross gets a great matchup against the Miami Marlins, who currently are working on figuring out their offense. Yes, both Giancarlo Stanton and Dee Gordon are going to cause problems for Ross, but he doesn't have to pitch a perfect game. Due to his low price tag, he can surrender a couple of runs and still hit value. How else can one stack all the best hitters from Colorado and San Diego?
DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel
Catcher (C) - Derek Norris
Derek Norris is playing in Coors tonight. He has a lot of power for a catcher, and it is generally advisable to punt the catcher position. Use him in both 50/50 contests and tournaments.
First Base (1B) - Chris Carter
Yes, Tyler White is outscoring Chris Carter. However, Chris Carter is cheaper. Tyler White is hitting home runs and hitting for a very high average. Chris Carter is hitting home runs and hitting for a fairly decent average. Roll the dice.
Second Base (2B) - Jason Kipnis
Jason Kipnis is off to a slow start this season, but there is really no reason to just give up on him. He doesn't get the worst matchup in the world tonight, and he is still producing fantasy points, despite his poor performance at the plate so far. He will correct whatever the issue is and continue to be one of the worst second basemen in the league.
Shortstop (SS) - Trevor Story
Generally, it is not advisable to chase fantasy points. With Trevor Story, it is uncertain whether or not he is going to ever stop hitting home runs. He has six so far this season and has broken too many records to count. Use him until he cools off for now.
Third Base (3B) - Kyle Seager
Kyle Seager has been hitting well for the Seattle Mariners so far this season, and he can be used in both 50/50 contests and tournaments. Seager has 15 or more fantasy points in three of his last four games.
DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel
Bryce Harper gets a great matchup tonight against the Miami Marlins, who are throwing Tom Koehler. Koehler is one of the better bad pitchers in the league, if that makes sense, but he will not fair well against possibly the best hitter in baseball. Harper can obviously be used in all formats.
Andrew McCutchen makes a lot of sense tonight against the Cincinnati Reds because the Pirates are such a great stack. Tim Melville is going to surrender quite a few runs, and McCutchen will be a part of that. He is kind of expensive, but well worth it if the money is there.
Melvin Upton Jr.
Melvin Upton Jr. hit his first home run of the season against the Colorado Rockies in his first game in Coors. Consequence? I think not. He has a lot of power for a cheap outfielder. Use him to get exposure to the Coors' bump and save a little bit of salary cap.
