Hello everybody and welcome! The 2021 MLB season and alive and well and that means our new friends over at PrizePicks have a TON of great props we can look to take advantage of. PrizePicks is a great DFS props site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.
Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the best, and easiest to win, MLB DFS games in the industry. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit up to $100.
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. For today's article, we are going to try and focus on the main board's Single Stat pitchers and explain why a pitcher will or will not go over their projected strikeout total. Let's see what the board offers today!

Single Stat MLBP Totals
J.A. Happ under 4 strikeouts - Happ has not gone over four strikeouts in any of his starts thus far in 2021 and has only reached four strikeouts once. That one time was against the Detroit Tigers who are striking out at an incredible rate against left-handed pitching. He will be facing the Indians in this one and while they are posting a K rate of 26.3% vs. lefties over the previous 10 days, they are also walking at a rate of 15.8%, which is ranked second-best in baseball over that span. Happ also only has seven strikeouts across 41 plate appearances against current Indians projected to be in today's lineup
Mike Minor under 5.5 strikeouts - Mike Minor has reached this total twice in 2021 and both times came against teams that were struggling mightily against lefties in the Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers. He will be facing a Pirates team tonight that is not striking out much vs. lefties as they are posting a K rate of just 18.8% over the previous 10 days, which has them ranked eighth-best in the league.
Mitch Keller under 5 strikeouts - I am not quite sure why Keller is listed at five right after only managing to strike out five Tigers, but here we are. He has a tall task ahead of him against the Kansas City Royals tonight as they have the best K rate in the league against right-handers over the previous 10 days with a rate of just 16.2%. They are also posting a wRC+ mark of 114, which has them ranked inside the top 10 of the league of the previous 10 days. This is a tough matchup for Keller.
Steven Matz under 5.5 strikeouts - This one is going to be a bit close, but Matz has struggled vs. the Nationals in the past and Washington is absolutely mashing left-handers lately. Over the previous 10 days, Washington is posting just an 18.4% K rate vs lefties, which is ranked seventh-best in the league over that span. They are also posting a 12.2% walk rate, which ranks fifth-best in the league and a wRC+ mark of 141 that ranks sixth-best in the league over that span. Matz also has just a career 19% K rate against current Washington Nationals projected to be in the lineup across 162 plate appearances.
