Sonny Gray more than 6.5 strikeouts and Logan Webb less than 4.5 strikeouts
Sonny Gray has been solid lately as he has 24 strikeouts in his previous three games. He will be facing a Giants team that is currently striking out at a rate of 28.9% against right-handers over the previous 10 days, which is fourth-worst in baseball. They are also posting just a .691 OPS over the same span, which is 10th-worst in baseball. Gray should be able to get deep enough in this one to go over the total.
Logan Webb was solid in his last start as he struck out 10 Rangers in an early afternoon game, however, this Reds team has been solid lately. They are posting a K rate of just 16.2% over the previous 10 days, which is second-best in baseball over that span. They are also posting a .738 OPS and 103 wRC+ mark, which could make this a tough task for Webb. Webb has also only reached this total three times in 2021.

Gerrit Cole more than 9.5 strikeouts and Jordan Lyles more than 4.5 strikeouts
While the Rangers have improved their last 10 day K rate to 21.2%, the rate is still high enough for Cole to strike out 10, and the Rangers have shown the propensity to be much higher in terms of K rate vs. right-handers. It was less than a week ago that the Rangers allowed Logan Webb to strike them out 10 times. Cole has gone over this total in five starts in 2021 and has hit it in four of his last five starts.
I do not love betting more than on Jordan Lyles, but this matchup should work out for him here at home, especially if the roof is closed tonight, which the team would be wise to do with the Yankees in town. The Yankees are currently striking out the most in baseball against right-handers over the previous 10 days with a rate of 30.5%. Lyles has also gone over this total in his last two starts with 13 strikeouts across his last 10 innings pitched.
