Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - MLB Lineup Picks for Friday 7/24

Welcome to the 2020 MLB Season! While the delay has now been well over four months, it is finally time to start the season and we here at RotoBaller could not be more excited! The season will be a sprint to the finish as the teams will be playing 60 games across 66 days and we will be here every day to ensure you get the best fantasy baseball advice on the market.

RotoBaller's has been dishing out streamer advice for years. We're always streamin and dreamin. Each day we'll publish some of the best streaming options to consider in your fantasy baseball daily league lineups. Streaming pitchers and position players to exploit a matchup are extremely important in fantasy baseball, especially in a truncated season like this one.

We will breakdown the streaming options into tiers: shallow leagues (rostered level between 35% and 50%), deep leagues (rostered level between 20% and 35%), and the deepest leagues (rostered level under 20%). Just because a player is recommended in one tier, does not mean he cannot be used in another tier. For instance, if a player is 50% rostered, but is available in your deeper league, feel free to stream him there! Finally, make sure to monitor MLB Starting Lineups to see who's sitting and starting, to ensure these players are actually in their lineups!

Editor's Note: Our incredible team of writers received five total writing awards and 13 award nominations by the Fantasy Sports Writers Association, tops in the industry! Congrats to all the award winners and nominees including Best MLB Series, NFL Series, NBA Writer, PGA Writer and Player Notes writer of the year. Be sure to follow their analysis, rankings and advice all year long, and win big with RotoBaller! Read More!

Shallow League Streamers (50% Rostered)

Pitchers to Stream:

Nathan Eovaldi (SP, BOS) - 43% Rostered

Eovaldi gets a solid matchup Friday vs. the putrid Orioles lineup. It is a team that finished 22nd and 24th in the league against right-handers in terms of SLG and AVG, respectively. Over the previous three seasons, he has also proven to be a better pitcher at home where his ERA is over a full point lower than on the road.

Hitters to Stream:

Mark Canha (OF, OAK) - 49% Rostered

Mark Canha has been mentioned time and time again as a sleeper this offseason, yet still only comes in at 49% owned in Yahoo! leagues. This could be a solid time to stream him vs Andrew Heaney. While he is only 1/11 vs. Heaney in his career, that one hit is a bomb and he has also hit lefties well in the past as expressed by his 13 HR and .941 OPS in 2018.

Hunter Renfroe (OF, TB) - 57% Rostered

You will notice a theme throughout this slate and that is using right-handed Rays bats that hit well vs left-handed pitching. While part of it is attacking Ryu in his first start as a Blue Jay, it is more about what this new Rays lineup could do vs. lefties in 2020 after they finished 11th in wRC+ in 2019. Enter Renfroe who has a +28% OPS vs. left-handed pitching since 2017 and has hit 30 HR across 434 PA over that same span. Renfroe was a sought after target for the Rays entering the season for this reason as they parted ways with Tommy Pham to get him and immediately projects to hit third vs. lefties.

Deeper League Streamers (25% Rostered)

Hitters to Stream:

Yandy Diaz, (1B/3B, TB) - 26% Rostered

Hyun-Jin Ryu gets his welcoming into the AL East on Friday and it might not be a warm one. He will be facing a Rays team that handled left-handed pitching to the tune of ranking 11th in wRC+ in 2019. A big part of that was Diaz who had a slash line of .311/.393/.583 vs. lefties with a .976 OPS. He also performed much better at home where his average was over 60 points higher. Ryu also gave up 11 of his 17 home runs to right-handed hitters in 2019.

Deepest League Streamers (10% Rostered)

Jordan Luplow (OF, CLE) - 1% Rostered

We are digging a little deep here for the deepest leagues, but Jordan Luplow has had some solid success vs. left-handed pitching. In 2019, Luplow smacked 14 of his 15 bombs vs. lefties en route to a 1.181 OPS. He is also 2/4 with a bomb and two BB vs. Danny Duffy in his career, which is good for a 1.917 OPS. He is a solid stream and also makes for a solid play in DFS.

Jose Martinez (OF, TB) - 4% Rostered

Martinez will be playing in his first game for the Rays and could find success early on vs. Ryu. He has been a machine vs. left-handed pitching over his career. Over the past three seasons, Martinez has put up a .971 OPS with 15 HR in just 286 PA vs. opposite-handed pitching. He is also projected to hit cleanup against left-handers this season, so be on the lookout for his position in the lineup leading up to first pitch.
