NBA DFS Prop Picks for PrizePicks: Wednesday, May 4th

jimmy butler NBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball

Tuesday nights slate of games came in two waves. The first wave being Jaylen Brown scoring over 24 points for the first time all postseason, complementing Jayson Tatum’s 29 points and securing a near 20 point win over Milwaukee. The second being whatever was going through Dillon Brooks mind to put him in the infamy books forever. There’s no excuse, and there’s no real defense of Brooks here. He was ejected that game and will face further consequences. To be an NBA player and have that be your course of action, it makes sense why he’s been playing basketball his entire life and still struggles with a jumpshot. This is the narrative he’s created for himself. A, now, uncontrollable hot-head with a knack for missing more shots than makes, and sometimes hurting more players than points scored.  Not only was he an all-around terrible basketball player with the one redeeming quality being that he actually plays defense, but now he’s cemented himself as a dirty player, putting all that “defensive prowess” in the weakest parts of everyone’s mind. All the Memphis fans calling Draymond Green dirty just got slapped by the 6’7 220lb hand of Karma.

Our partners at PrizePicks offer some of the best and easiest to win NBA DFS games in the industry. There are no large-field tournaments filled with sharks where you have to get lucky just to place. At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money. With promo code 'BALLER' you can get a 100% match on your deposit up to $100.

PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game. The second game is known as Single Stat. For NBA, Single Stat consists of points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers made, and free throws made, in which you determine if the player in question will go over or under their projected total. You can mix and match players from each type of game in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Today, we will look at some single-stat scores for tonight, March 1.

Tyrese Maxey OVER 20.5 Points – The absolute best part of the playoffs is watching younger players pick up the slack left by superstars and running away with it. Tyrese Maxey is the perfect example of someone who sees a gap in production, embraces it, then supersedes whoever was letting it slip away. In this case, there’s seems to be some direct correlation between James Harden and Maxey’s scoring, being that Maxey is the better scorer right now. Until James Harden can offer two-way production, so that his defense will bleed into his offense, Maxey is going to be and will be seen as the priority playmaker. Maybe not in the sense of who physically brings the ball up the court, but as of right now, a player who averaged 17 points throughout the season scored 19 in Game 1 of a second round series and was deemed a bust. Compare that to James Harden, a previous scoring title and MVP only scored 16 points, who everyone seems to be giving injury excuses to. If Harden plays, he should be expected to be healthy and do his part. Since that’s not the case anymore, Maxey is the better scorer with more upside against one of the stingiest defenses in the league.

P.J. Tucker OVER 18.0 Fantasy Score – Playing in the postseason doesn’t just alter the nerves of most players, but the implications give a boost to a certain type of playmaker. That type being the defensive specialist. This is the NBA, nearly every player outside of Ben Simmons is capable of shooting. JaVale McGee can hit an in-game three-pointer, he just doesn’t because it’s not a good shot for him. P.J. Tucker on the other hand, is a starter who lives for standing in open space with one-hand in the air yelling, “here if you need me!” He’s always going to pass up a good shot (for him) to a great shot for a teammate, so that’s the basis behind going with fantasy score rather than general points. Tucker produces on the defensive end first and then does whatever he can to help his team on the offensive end. If that means doing nothing but rebounding and making that extra pass, Tucker assumes that role with confidence and a smile.

Bam Adebayo OVER 3.5 Assists – Bam Adebayo is one of the best basketball players in the league. He might not dominate any single category, but his abilities across the board along with his size make him a threat whenever he gets the ball or is defending it. He knows how to make passes, he knows when to shoot and when to drive. He knows when he needs to focus on defense in a defensive matchup and knows how to make his opponent consistently work on both ends of the court. In a vacuum, Adebayo generates assists, blocks shots, spaces the floor with his shooting and controls the paint with his size, but all that generally goes out the window during playoffs, especially when, what would have been his hardest matchup so far, is out with injury. The Heat are going to win this series against 76ers solely because they don’t have Joel Embiid, but ignoring how much that impacts Adebayo’s production is basically leaving money on the table.
