NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 10/24
Good Evening and welcome back! We have a small 3-game slate tonight with over half the teams playing on the back-half of a back-to-back.
There is some news worth mentioning with Patrick Kane possibly being on the COVID-19 Protocol for today's game and Cory Schneider may make his unforeseen return to the NHL ice.
NHL DFS Goalies
Mike Smith- DK $7.3K || FD $8.5K
Opponent - Nashville Predators
Kahkonen did not have a great first season in the NHL with a 2.88 GAA and a 0.902 save percentage last year. However, Minnesota also struggled as a team and things are looking bright to start the season. Kahkonen is also going against a Nashville squad that loves to shoot the puck no matter the quality of the shot. If he can get in a mindset early on, there is a good chance he could post the best score at the position.
Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Nedeljkovic(DK $7.8K || FD $7.3K)
NHL DFS Centers
Joel Eriksson Ek-DK $5.2K || FD $4.8K
Opponent - Nashville Predators
Eriksson Ek continues to center one of the brightest wingers in the league right now, but yet his price barely increases. The centerman just got done having a career-best night when he posted a hat trick against the Winnipeg Jets. Even if he is not scoring, he is at least taking a few shots and setting up Karill Kaprisov and Mats Zuccarello. In a projected goal crazy game, Eriksson Ek could have immense value.
Pius Suter- DK $4K || FD $3.8K
Opponent - Chicago Blackhawks
This will be Suter's first time not only playing Chicago since his departure but also playing in Chicago. The centerman never got a chance with the Blackhawks and now he gets to make a difference against them. He will have slightly lesser talent with Robby Fabbri moving to replace a vacant spot, otherwise, he is insanely undervalued.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Larkin(DK $7.1K || FD $6K), Karlsson(DK $5.9K || FD $5.8K), Dach(DK $4.6K || FD $5.1K)
NHL DFS Wings
Kirill Kaprisov- DK $6.7K || FD $7.4K
Opponent - Nashville Predators
Kaprisov has yet to score a goal this season, but he does have five assists and he is surely due for his first goal of the season. This is the perfect chance for him and the rest of the top-line to shine against a mediocre-at-best Nashville defense.
Alex DeBrincat- DK $6.4K || FD $7.3K
Opponent - Detroit Red Wings
Patrick Kane is possibly out for this contest due to COVID-19 Protocol which would leave Chicago with DeBrincat. DeBrincat has recently been playing on the third-line, but he will now see his value spike once more if he gets promoted again. Playing alongside improved talent, it will be no surprise to watch the youngster lead the Blackhawks in points and ice-time.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Lee(DK $ 7.1K || FD $5.2K), Forsberg(DK $ 7K || FD $6.1K), Smith(DK $4.7K || FD $4.6K), Fabbri(DK $4.9K || FD $4K)
NHL DFS Defensemen
Seth Jones- DK $6.5K || FD $6.3K
Opponent - Detroit Red Wings
Jones has been a staple in the Chicago lineup instantly as expected. When the young defenseman made his change from the East to join the rebuilding Blackhawks he knew he would be the leader on the blueline. Jones has 17 shots and eight blocked shots as well as three assists in five appearances. Not only does he play a big role in the offense, but his peripherals are just as good.
Nicolas Hague- DK $3.5K || FD $3.6K
Opponent - New York Islanders
WIth teammate Alex Martinez likely out due to a lower-body injury, Hague will step into his role on even-strength and the man-advantage. Through four appearances, Hague has one goal, one assist, seven shots and six blocked shots. Those are some solid numbers from a third-pairing defenseman. With the elevated role, it will not be surprising to see Hague increase those numbers tenfold.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Josi(DK $7.2K || FD $6.3K), Jones(DK $6K || FD $6.3K), Petrangelo(DK $6.8K || FD $6.3K), Dumba(DK $5.4K || FD $4.7K)
