NHL DFS Prop Picks for 2/4/19 - Monkey Knife Fight

Monday’s hockey schedule has four games and while none might be considered epic matchups, there are always opportunities to profit on Monkey Knife Fight.

Star with the Kings and Rangers, a pair of teams that are struggling this season, but there are some bright spots, too. For the Blueshirts, Mika Zibanejad is stepping into his role as a top-line center and Kevin Hayes, while he’s still with the Rangers, is enjoying his most productive season. Those are a couple of reasons to be positive about the Blueshirts, even in the midst of a rebuilding season.

Oh, and they still have King Henrik. That’s still an advantage for the Rangers too. Here are some angels to consider before letting your monkeys loose on the ice tonight.

LOS ANGELES-RANGERS

OVER/UNDERS

Mika Zibanejad OVER 0.5 POINTS – Really coming into his own as the Rangers’ No. 1 center, Zibanejad has 15 points in his past eight games, hitting the scoreboard in seven of eight games.

Hit all five of these for a monster 19x payout:

  • Tyler Toffoli UNDER 3.5 SHOTS + BLOCKS
  • Henrik Lundqvist OVER 27.5 SAVES
  • Jonathan Quick UNDER 27.5 SAVES
  • Mika Zibanejad OVER 0.5 POINTS
  • Kevin Hayes OVER 0.5 POINTS

RAPID FIRE

Mats Zuccarello +0.5 points vs. Kevin Hayes – While Hayes is a having a good season, it’s hard to imagine that, with 20 points in 23 home games, he warrants a half point ahead of Zuccarello, who has 15 points in 18 home games.

OVER/UNDERS

Sean Couturier OVER 3.5 SHOTS + BLOCKS – Before getting held in check against Edmonton on Saturday, Couturier had gone five straight home games with at least four shots plus blocks He can get back on that horse tonight.

Jacob Markstrom OVER 27.5 SAVES – Markstrom has been on a good run for a while now and has at least 28 saves in six of his past seven road games.

ANAHEIM-TORONTO

OVER/UNDERS

John Tavares OVER 0.5 POINTS – With points in 18 of 27 home games, the odds lean in Tavares’ favor, though maybe not quite as much as expected. Considering that the Ducks present below-average opposition, though, there should be a good chance for Tavares to get on the board.

John Gibson OVER 27.5 SAVES – This one should be determined relatively early. Gibson has stopped at least 28 shots in 10 of his past 14 road contests and has been pulled in three of the four games in which he didn’t hit that threshold. It can be hard playing behind this Ducks squad.

Morgan Rielly OVER 0.5 POINTS – Although his production has slowed a bit and he has recorded points in four of the past nine home games, a matchup with Anaheim is reason enough to think that Rielly can end up on the right side of the ledger this time.

Rickard Rakell OVER 2.5 SHOTS + BLOCKS – Since returning from injury, Rakell has at least three shots plus blocks in four of six road games. It’s hardly a lock, given that he doesn’t contribute many blocks, but the Ducks will need Rakell to pull the trigger if they are going to have a chance against the Leafs and he’s averaging nearly 19 minutes per game since getting back in the lineup.

ARIZONA-DALLAS

Tyler Seguin OVER 0.5 POINTS – It’s not as obvious as it looks, as Seguin has points in 15 of 27 home games, but he’s been producing lately and a home game against Arizona is a good opportunity to keep the points coming.

Derek Stepan OVER 2.5 SHOTS + BLOCKS – With his consistent contributions defensively, as well as offensively, Stepan has recorded at least three shots plus blocks in 12 of his past 13 road games. He can do this one on the regular.
