BALLER MOVE: Add him in all leagues
OWNED IN: 42% of Fleaflicker leagues
ANALYSIS: If Nick Castellanos is still available, put your claim in, and hope that you have a high enough waiver. In his first two full big league seasons, Castellanos provided some solid production from the hot corner, seeing a slight jump in both home runs and RBI. He hit 11 and 15 long balls, and drove in 66 and 73 runs, in 2014 and 2015 respectively, now starting the 2016 campaign with two homers and 10 ribbies with about a week left in April.
What's more impressive is that he's batting .328, which is likely to go down based on his .261 career average. Castellanos has failed to pick up a hit in only four of 17 games, but is averaging a strikeout per contest and is striking out at a slightly higher rate than in past seasons, according to FanGraphs. The young third baseman's success has stemmed from how often he's hitting line drives (31% of plate appearances) and how much he's limited the ground balls (19%), both of which are significantly different than his career totals. Even though everything will likely even out as the season progresses, Castellanos is a solid source of production that's only improving. He will get continuous RBI opportunities batting behind Miguel Cabrera, Victor Martinez, and JD Martinez.
