Nolan Arenado is a first round pick in 2016. He is entering his age-25 campaign for the Rockies on the heels of an amazing 2015 where he hit 42 dingers with 130 RBIs while scoring 97 runs himself. He even provided all of that pop while hitting .287. That’s rare.
For what it’s worth, he also plays an incredible third base if you use fielding percentage or errors. He is a stud, and while it’d be difficult to project an identical year for Arenado, even with some regression you’re getting an amazing player. Yes, he did better at Coors, I don’t think anyone expects anything different out of any Colorado player, but he also needs to shore up his hitting against lefties. The guy hit 37 of his 42 bombs off of righties, with his 156 PAs against lefties only leading to the five bombs and a .267 average.
The point is that he isn’t helpless against lefties, but if he can get to squaring them up, well then the league needs to really watch out. Draft Arenado with the utmost confidence.
