Odell Beckham Jr. Travels with the Giants to Philadelphia for Monday Night Football

The New York Giants are traveling to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles in a Monday night tilt that has big NFC East implications. The Giants are coming off of a last minute victory against the 49ers where they had to persevere as Odell Beckham Jr. and Rueben Randle both missed time during the game due to hamstring injuries.

While Rueben Randle was a full participant at practice on Friday (meaning he should definitely play pending a last second setback), Odell Beckham Jr. did not practice all week which usually sets people up for being inactive. That said, the big news from Sunday for the Giants was that Odell did indeed travel with the team to Philadelphia. Hope springs eternal.

Combine this with the fact that the Giants did not sign a wide receiver from their practice squad for the game, and things appear favorable for Beckham Jr. to suit up and play against the Eagles on Monday night. If Odell were to miss the game, the Giants would be left with only four active receivers, and this would include Randle who certainly has to be viewed as being at risk of re-aggravating his hamstring. Dwayne Harris, Myles White, and Geremy Davis would be the other receivers.

In a game that projects to be a high scoring shootout that should see the ball primarily move through the air (with both teams boasting good rushing defenses), the Giants will need their number one receiver. While he may not be 100%, it was made clear at the end of last week's game that the Giants are willing to use, and target, Beckham Jr. even if he's not going at full speed. The stars are lining up for Beckham Jr. to play, and him traveling to Philadelphia is a big indicator that he is going to give it a go.
