49ers Add Another Running Back In Tyrion Davis-Price
3 years agoThe 49ers made a relatively surprising move on Friday evening, selecting LSU running back Tyrion Davis-Price with the 93rd overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft. The former Tiger finished his final college season by racking up 1,003 yards and six touchdowns off 211 attempts. He doesn't have the most extensive or consistent collegiate record. However, the 21-year-old will have a chance to prove his value under Kyle Shanahan, a coach known to utilize multiple backs throughout the course of any given season. Nonetheless, Davis-Price probably won't be a consistent week-to-week fantasy option. Yet, he could still easily surpass Trey Sermon, who had a disappointing rookie year, on the depth chart while also serving as the primary backup to Elijah Mitchell. Jeff Wilson Jr. and JaMycal Hasty are currently on the roster as well, although it's possible one or both may be on their way out of the Bay Area.
