49ers "Can't Imagine" Trading Deebo Samuel
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch said he "can't ever imagine wanting to move on from Deebo Samuel." "He's just too good of a player ... We've got nothing but love for him and nothing but appreciation for what he's brought, but you just don't let guys like that walk. So, I can't envision a scenario where we would [trade him]," Lynch said. Samuel said last week that he requested a trade, and other reports noted that the star receiver/running back has refused to engage the team on a potential contract extension. The 26-year-old is entering the final year of his rookie deal and has a salary cap number of just under $5 million in 2022. Samuel had 77 catches for 1,405 yards and six touchdowns while also recording 365 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the ground in 2021. He's one of the most dynamic and productive players in fantasy at any position.
