5 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers enter 2019 as the fourth-worst ranked defensive unit on RotoBaller. The Niners allowed 409 points last season (25.6 PPG), yielding 28 or more points seven times. The team expended the second overall pick this offseason on defensive end Nick Bosa (ankle). Bosa, who suffered an ankle injury but could be available in Week 1, should contribute immediately once healthy. Other key defensive players include newly-acquired defensive end Dee Ford and veteran cornerback Richard Sherman. The Niners visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and a revamped coaching staff in Week 1. The Bucs also boasted an atrocious defense in 2018 and the total score is projected to reach 50.
