5 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers Defense enjoyed a field day against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1. The Niners limited the Bucs offense to just 11 points, racking up three sacks and intercepting quarterback Jameis Winston thrice. Cornerback Richard Sherman intercepted an awful pass by Winston in the third quarter, returning it 31 yards for a score, then cornerback Akhello Witherspoon took a fourth quarter pick to the house to ice the game. In a game projected for over 50 points, few fantasy owners expected much from the Niners D, but they capitalized all day on Tampa’s careless quarterback. San Francisco travels to Cincinnati in Week 2 to attempt an encore and could be a sneaky defensive streamer.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
