49ers Expect Trey Lance To Struggle?

2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance is likely to struggle in his first full season as the starting QB, and even some of the team's recent public comments indicate they think as much. The Niners have question marks at four of the five starting offensive line spots. The defense is one of the best in the league, which should take some pressure off Lance, but there are enough questions at key spots on offense to make things difficult for the 22-year-old signal-caller in 2022. Lance is still the team's unquestioned future, even with Jimmy Garoppolo sticking around as the backup this year, but fantasy managers should expect growing pains. His dual-threat abilities at the position give him a higher floor than most, but he's better off being selected as a high-end QB2 with upside in fantasy drafts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
