49ers Not Committing To Nick Mullens As Starter In Week 15
4 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Nick Mullens is coming off of a rough performance during Sunday's loss to Washington in which he tossed an interception and lost a fumble, both of which were returned for touchdowns. Mullens has now thrown at least one interception in each of his last five games, which led to head coach Kyle Shanahan saying, "I'm up for anything right now," as it pertained to who would start under center in Week 15 versus Dallas. Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) remains a ways away, and may even be done for the remainder of 2020, which leaves Mullens and C.J. Beathard as Shanahan's primary options. No matter who eventually gets tabbed QB1 for the 49ers, they'll be an avoidable fantasy asset despite the Cowboys Defense having been susceptible to gaudy performances this year.
