4 years agoIn the past week, there has been growing optimism surrounding the respective statuses of San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (foot) and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) and whether they may be able to return in 2020. But following Monday's loss to the Bills, head coach Kyle Shanahan noted that while both players are hard at work in their rehabs, "it's not anytime soon" that they should be expected back on the field. Without Kittle, tight end Jordan Reed has emerged as a fantasy asset, while quarterback Nick Mullens has taken over the reins under center. Either would be zapped of all their respective fantasy value should Kittle or Garoppolo make it back onto the field over the final four weeks. At this stage, fantasy managers shouldn't expect either of the 49ers key cogs to suit up, but the conjecture surrounding their statuses makes it feasible that San Francisco could get one or both back prior to 2021.--Jesse Borek
