49ers Re-Sign Jeff Wilson Jr.
3 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers are re-signing running back Jeff Wilson Jr. to an undisclosed deal on Wednesday. Wilson has a total of 1,265 rushing yards and 17 total touchdowns in four years with head coach Kyle Shanahan. The 26-year-old only played in nine games (four starts) last year, rushing 79 times for 294 yards and two touchdowns while catching seven of eight targets for 31 additional yards. Raheem Mostert is no longer in town in San Francisco's backfield, but Elijah Mitchell should retain his lead-back role in 2022, and second-year back Trey Sermon could also have an expanded role. It might take an injury for Wilson to become fantasy relevant on a weekly basis, and he'll mainly be a handcuff for those that have Mitchell rostered in 2022.
