3 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers are signing running back Jacques Patrick off the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad. As injuries have depleted the San Francisco backfield, Patrick potentially has a chance to get some meaningful playing time with Trey Sermon (concussion) and JaMycal Hasty (ankle) set to miss some time. The former XFL star is not on the fantasy radar for now, as Duke Johnson, Lamar Miller, or T.J. Yeldon could also be signed to the active roster. Elijah Mitchell (shoulder) is considered day-to-today, so he will continue to serve as the lead back in the run-heavy 49ers offense. This backfield is something to monitor moving forward, but it may be best to avoid it entirely considering the unpredictability it brings on a weekly basis.--Tommy Adamopoulos - RotoBaller
