A.J. Derby Considered Day-To-Day
6 years agoMiami Dolphins tight end A.J. Derby (foot) is day-to-day with a minor foot injury. This doesn't appear to be serious and probably won't hold him out of practice for longer than a few days. Derby was practicing with the first team and appears to be the frontrunner for the starting tight end job in Miami. Even if Derby gets the job he is a late round deep league option at best. Ryan Tannehill has never thrown much to his previous tight ends like Jordan Cameron and Dion Sims. Adam Gase's offense only heavily featured a tight end when he was in Denver with Julius Thomas, though Peyton Manning may have dictated that production more than Gase.
