A.J. Puk Called Up on Tuesday
3 years agoThe Oakland Athletics have recalled left-hander A.J. Puk before Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Indians. Puk, rated as the second-best prospect in Oakland's system, has made one appearance this season back in April and has been in Triple-A since. He has put up subpar numbers in the minors this year, posting a 6.08 ERA while allowing 2.25 HR/9. Puk has a big arm that will generate plenty of strikeouts. However, he doesn't have much fantasy value until he can secure a spot in the Athletic's rotation or pitch well enough to start appearing in high leverage situations. In a corresponding move, Oakland designated reliever J.B. Wendelken for assignment.
